Hideo Kojima prepares for Taipei Game Show 2015
On January 28 the Taipei Game Show 2015 has officially kicked off.
This year the show consists of 1471 booths from 195 companies, making it the largest so far. As we know, Kojima will be attending to present MGSV: The Phantom Pain on January 31st. Unfortunately, there won’t be a live stream available.
In preparation of the event, Kojima has been signing TPP flyers and other promotional items to hand out on the show floor.

My expectations are genuinely on the level of a pink arm or something. Either that or more spoilers. (Well, by spoiler I mean area and feature announcements. I want it all to be a surprise.)
I doubt it. Tapei is gonna be big this year. Sony is bringing out the big guns. Suppose to be a couple world premiers also. I guess Asia is trying to get Tapei to be big as American ones.
Also there will be live streams if you own a ps4 or computer and know where to look on Twitch.

Also I think there plan is to get it as big as E3. Though I’ve heard of it being pretty pro Playstation, so, I was thinking that I doubt it’s gonna have a release date but more on Playstation gimmicks for MGS tpp. Just seems they would probably say at a show where the focus would be 100% on gaming but you never know!!

Idk if it ruins a surprise since a lot of the trailers are made in a way to confuse you while generating hype. A lot are dubbed with lines from different scenes . If you still feel like it could spoil you, then by all means quit reading and watching trailers and demos

Yeah, I always find that absolutely incredible that he kept that secret. The internet wasn’t as popular as now but it was still around.
I’m actually scared (with excitement) of what Kojima has in store because Troy Baker said in that recent interview that he admires Kojima for doing something “so bold”. I wonder what it is. Sounds like it could be something as big as Raiden. Then again he can’t really swap protagonists I don’t think because it’s BB’s story. Unless we suddenly get to play as Liquid or Solid Snake.

You mean in MGS5 there’d be a Metal Gear 1 remake? Holy crap. Can you imagine if half way through when Big Boss turns fully evil you get to control Solid Snake and play through a Metal Gear 1 remake? Holy balls. I’m not expecting anything like that though, it’d honestly be unfair. It’d be a crazy amount of work. Then again it’s Kojima. Metal Gear Solid 3 still beats all PS3, PS4 and PC games. He’ll have something amazing and surprising in store even if it’s just part of the story.
Yea it’s just a hope. I know Konami is in financial probs. I think a lot of people wouldn’t mind if he did write time paradoxes in if it is written good. That could open up the storyline so much and also give a reason to redo some stuff for alt realities. Seems it’s right up MGS.
Well MGS 3 is a good game but best game out for all systems it’s on. Idk. I agree it’s a good game but xbox1 has one of the best visual games out right now that’s underrated because of xb1 sales. Ryse is one of the most stunning games I have ever played. Then on ps4 I liked the new infamous.
I try to play as many games as I can, so me, I can’t really say a game is best in world because I always play games that make me rethink that.
Telltale games is amazing. Everything they do from TWD to GoT to a wolf among us. Also the last of is AMAZING anyone says other wise, is just being different to be different because that game is wowowowowow
Yeah, Ryse is a million times better looking, I played it for PC not long ago. The gameplay and characters though? I can’t remember 1 thing about it other than the good graphics. I loved Infamous, that’s my favorite PS4 game and I loved all the other games you listed. The Last Of Us and TWD come close but everything about MGS3 and even 4, all the details, the over the top yet somehow believable (while you’re playing within the context of the game world) characters, all the easter eggs, (like the multiple ways of defeating The End, all the ways you can play around while disguised as a scientist) the music, all the dialogue to do with movies and different animals. No other game has come near. Other games are good in their own right but surely you can’t compare TWD or TLOU to MGS3? I mean MGS3’s gameplay (well, actually MGS3 HD) is great and then all the stuff I just mentioned on top of that, I don’t know.
I feel like I’m not really communicating what I want to. There are too many things that make it a perfect game to me and it’s 2 generations old! It’s a true work of art while those other games are just games. (Well, the story of TWD is amazing but at the expense of gameplay (I was moved just as much by parts of MGS4 and almost as much with MGS3’s ending), easter eggs and small details. TLOU has near perfect gameplay, characters and story but not the detailed dialogue, symbolism and easter eggs so once it’s all weighed MGS3 is way on top for me. I’m not being hostile by the way in case this came across that way.)
I loved mgs3 but what I meant was that as years go by a new game catches my eye and becomes one of the legends in my eyes. I can’t just keep playing same game for years. It is def one of the legends and will always be a great game. TWD really captured me on game telling and in terms of arrest game play, difficulty and fun. Yea the last of us is way up there. Now I like both for those reasons but each game has its class of game. So in ways of mgs3 v.s TLOU are the same but at the core it’s two different games. I have a thing for apocalypse games and they nailed the emotion, drive, problems, types of people. Like perfect.
So it’s hard to answer that question without saying that first.
As a stealth game? MGS hands down.
As a emotional roller coaster ? TLAU hands down

My expectations are low right now. It’s a niche show so no release date announcement but I think Kojima can show us something cool. Kojima is there so fans can expect some information from the show that’s for sure.

Same here. I’m expecting no news, no new announcements of importance. Probably a lot of what we’ve already seen and maybe 1 or 2 very minor things. Remember that Russian show last year that everyone got excited for? They said they’d show something new, but the way it was worded meant “new for the people at the show”. So nothing new was shown. -_-
Yea but it was stated by a Konomi rep that it is NEW INFO about the game. Now is it NEW INFO on MGS TPP or MGO 3 ? That is the question.

I’m sure they worked out all those problems but , but I can’t but feel rushed to jump into MGO. I know a lot will jump in asap and do the mp part as soon as able.
If you focus on single player by the time you start MGO . The most dedicated will have the online unlocks and have the maps memorized.
I’m a big MP/co-op advocate because it does lengthen the games life span and I will probably be in MGO as soon as able because I always try to top leader boards in all MP aspects.
I would love to see it come out alil after TPP has been released .
If not. I’ll finish the story Ina year or 2 because 3rd person shooter online is what I live for.

Yea if he has a military adviser and they are adding realistic elements of modern warfare for MGS about dog warfare.
Then I can probably say for certainty that you will be able to be very stealthy with diamond dog. Let’s say there are two enemies. You have dog attack the one guy , while you sneak and choke out the other. Though diamond dogs options have to be lethal but in a game compared to real life they can add many elements that “touch” on real skills of military dogs. Tracking down assassins in the jungle with dd smelling them out. Cadaver finding, bomb dogs, attack dogs so much potential.
That would be absolutely hilarious. Imagine calling DD in the way we saw Quiet called in the Africa gameplay. A dog flying in via parachute is something only Kojima could pull off.
Maybe Kojima will actually make COD’s dog idea work instead of the boring mess that fish AI COD game was.
ye between them they have two eyes i guess haha i’m gonna be terrified of losing DD since you have the chance of losing him in battle, maybe i’d just take him out on easier missions to be safe.
That losing your buddy thing reminded me of something. You know what would be cool? If we could upgrade our buddies somehow, like giving DD a protective gear at some point etc. But then again, that might make things too easy if enemy can’t defeat them well.
I just don’t wanna lose my DD or Quiet… If it happens for some reason…then I promise I will…

I am betting that that is already in. remember the Africa gameplay with quiet ? He mentioned in that that the buddy will get better as he/she gets more loyal to BBoss .. So taking that and that they are military group with an R&D dept. Its for sure that that will be possible.. Although.. Im wondering what you could do with quiet.. Perhaps change her sniper or her rifle.. Choose from Range and/or accuracy and/or Damage and her suit perhaps.. Mayb we’ll be able to R&D better gear for DD and quiet

Well in ps4 it’s constantly saving , I have a feeling that it won’t be a big deal if they die but keeping them alive will be difficult but rewarding? Probably each buddy has its own missions and depending on how you accomplish mission and if you take mission you can get better with buddy. In a way kinda dragon ageism type system. But back to saving if it’s like GZ , then you will probably have to restart game file maybe? I hope so because that way when your buddy’s maxed out, it actually means something like damn, that was HARD man. Also when maxed out, should open that character for MGO. I wanna be diamond dog in mp
Well, Honestly I care Little for the rewards but Im guessing each one will have a connection/attachment/story with big boss and that is Why i’ll keep them alive.. even if it means dieing myself 😀 Exactly like how games like DragonAge and Mass effect work.. you dont need what your crew brings in but its nice to know their stories and attachment to Shpard or Your inquisitor 🙂

I dont think you’ll have to max out The characters to get them.. im sure they may be there as default .. but i doubt you’ll be able to play as DD .. perhaps Big boss wearing a wolf/DD costume.. now that would be hilarious xD
Gotta have rewards for difficulty in this day an age. Back in NES days all you got was a congrats text at the end of each game. Plus it’s nice having things that are so difficult everyone can’t do it. Every game does that now days. Also it’s nice to be able to show off in MP . Yea mofo look at why I gotz ha

Haha 100% truth. My son when he was 5 I got him his own ps3 and 360 and he would complain and flip when he couldn’t beat something. Now he be running through last of us on grounded. Comes down to learning patience and practicing. Then learning that gaming is not suppose to be easy

What is irritating is that game dev have made games not only easier but they’ve done that by sacrificing good game mechanics just so the “casual gamer” can play easily.. I mean.. Why ? Why cut out good stuff and make the game easier to play for casual gamers ?
Thats what i hate most about games getting easier.. I remember back in the day, splinter cell used to be so hard and tough to play with TONS of gadgets and everything.. now I can finish the whole game in one sitting and while going full stealth :/ I dont mind that games are getting easier but now its more of “here take 100 easyenemies, its better than one awesome cool enemy that you have to use tactis to beat” and “oh we made it easier this time, just hold Rt and square and thats all, we are aiming at casual gamers so that any gamer can get the game, put it in and enjoy it” .. that is what is getting worse year by year .. and if it keeps going, by 2030, we’ll have games that last 1hr and have the other 4hrs on the disc but its locked for PAID DLC. Rather than making games more complex, some game devs think its better to make a crap game so EVERYONE can play rather than a good game which gamers can play..
I agree 100% on that. Like I said before I have a lot of issues with today’s currwnt gaming trends. Games are a lot more mainstream now than 70s and every ten years , it changes and gets more people. Which in turn brings more money. Which in turn just changed what gaming was about originally. As long as a few GOOD games come out a year . I’ll be happy but I do fear for the future.

I mean very few games are actually evolving to be more complex..name me one series that evolved to be more COMPLEX rather than become simple … i cant even think of any on the top of my head.. DarkSouls not included! Instead Games are getting more simple so it can reach the hands of more people around the world.. What game devs have to realize is that it’s gonna end up ruining PROPER gaming if that continues :/
The reason why I for example love Dark Souls is because it give me that uber difficult feeling from old games, which not many games give anymore. I loved that. I don’t remember how many times I died on 1st playthrough, maybe a 1000 lol. DS was also the first game in a LONG TIME for me, that made me kinda of rage quit hah ;D. In Blighttown and Anor Londo…but the feeling of achievement when finally clear the game or difficult parts was so good.
TPP will be awesome that it offers many ways to play. Obviously many go guns blazing maybe, but not me. No reflex, Hard mode is so nice in GZ. Also tried to play without Enemy Marking too few times, daaamn that was intense sneaking :). Will try this combo in TPP but maybe first with Marking on.

Honestly, I got dark souls 2.. never tried the first part. but i just could’nt push myself to play it.. not because it was too hard.. i actually liked that bit about it being so hard but because it was so gloomy and dark.. I mean I was playing only single player (slow internet connection) so perhaps it felt really gloomy to me because of that.. but it felt slow and boring.. no BG music… everything is so glomy and sad.. i pushed myself halfway through because I enjoyed the challenge but then just could’nt go on with that sadness :/
Although.. there is one thing that pissed me off.. the HIT BOX.. man the Hit boxes were all over the place.. really pissed me off.. now please dont say that is a challenge.. that is just lazy work :/
I’ll do normal for my first play and then try, no reflex-hard-no enemy marking-no enemy has seen you indicator (That white curve that comes on scree in GZ) 😀 I’m playing on normal first because of the huge world.. gotta get used to that first 😀
Truth. That’s why I like rewards but now days like you said everyone expects everything to be handed.
Do you know how many people act cheated if they can’t finish a trophy because of difficulty? It HAS to be bugged they say heh
The original MG took me 6 months to get through game without dying and to get the cheats the right way 🙂
My most remnered games seem to be the most difficult games. Like mg1, contra, phantasmagoria 1, res 1 God that’s just old school not counting new IP like dark souls etc. took a year to 100% dark souls . Was so much fun though
Contra kicked ass, oh maan that game bring back memories :)! I never heard of MG1 until I had played MGS1 in 1998. I still play some of the old games on emulators once in a while :). Sega Megadrive-console has some of my most favorite games from my younger days <3, some of them might not have been that hard compared to NES games but still a huge blast to play.

Yea mg is just a good game to understand where the stealth concept came from. What’s funny is the actual first mg had nothing todo with big boss. There was col. Mc taffy and like a general or emperor cockatoo lol or something . Later on it changed. Well mg2 has cokamoo and mg1 was col mc taffy.

Only bad thing is about MGS Portable Ops and Peace Walker on Vita, is that there is no trophy support. It is because it’s PSP game so :(… But on PS3 the HD collection has trophies for it.
Well it don’t really matter much in the end, because I play games for enjoyment and for the love ;). Never tried Wii consoles but I maybe buy some day :). Sure I might add you if want, I’m B1g_Boss88 on PS4/Vita :P. I play pretty many games too, but recently had no time when I spend my evenings here haha ;D … or then watching Netflix etc. Need to continue my unfinished games and MGS replaying !

Yea I doubt we will be dd in mp. Haha but that would be my Playstyles. I don’t like using guns in mp or I’m a sniper. In bf4 I have over 100k head shots I beleive. Ain’t played Ina bit.
I see myself in MGO having more than 100k kills with knives 😉
haha same here, Im a precise assault rifle user (I use the quick aim, one shot accurate technique in most of my games) but MOSTLY sniper.. had 2+ KD ratio in CounterStrik! 😀
I always got owned in CS.
For some reason, I never got owned in First person shooters.. The first time I ever played on an xbox was at my friends place and we played COD MW2 .. I defeated each and everyone of them and they were like 8 of them… So they went like “man youre hustling us!” … haha and that was the first time i ever touched an xbox.. but i guess it was because of my experience at CS .. At CS, Some guys are TOO GOOD to play with but thats how you learn.. Many kids will whine about how pros kill them but used to ALWAYS try and play with real pros so that I could get better and eventually, I did get much better… the more you practice Cs, The better you get.. but you have to practice around both guys your own level and those above you so you learn tactics and shooting 😀
Oh yea I love CS. I played but never got serious with it. My brother went to competition tournaments for CS back in the day.
Damn thats cool.. CS tournaments usually pay big.. oh wait.. now that is Dota’s place.. man the world has changed.. now people are playing dota tournaments and not CS.. :/
If I lose them, I’ll maybe continue and see how it effects story. Then next playthrough I do it more careful the other way around. I’m a cautious player usually in games so I think I be okey.
But I wonder if there is certain part in the story cutscenes that we will lose them anyway. I mean BB will pull the trigger on Quiet etc, that kinda thing. Damn I can’t wait to find out >.<…thinking all of this make me ultra hyped.
Im sure each one will have an attachment to Bboss so i’ll keep them alive no matter what.. i’m one of the one playthrought/first playthrough see everything type.. I want to see EVERYTHING the game offers in the first playthrough and then in my second and third i’ll do things differently .. perhaps not meet quiet or kill DD.. etc etc
Perhaps we will at hte end.. or mayb not..who knows.. there is outer heaven in the end perhaps so mayb they’ll survive..we’ll have to play the game to know that now 🙂 Hoping for march.. it’ll be my birthday 😀

Yea maybe they will survive ;D. Hmmm actually now that I think of it, I AM also the kind of “see everything” type of player in games for first time. Always searching places, doing all side quests etc in RPG games and so on. So I will do it now too XD…
ha NICE! Although I will have to avoid The Internet because of spoilers for a while after the game releases .. I dont want to even get the slightest hint of the ending.. 2 years of waiting goes down the drain if i come to know the ending somehow :’/ So I’ll do EVERYTHING in my first playthrough.. play all the way to the end, all the side quests and everything, THEN i’ll come online.. Or perhaps i’ll do the main storyline and then come online .. atleast that way, the main story will stay mind blowing for me 🙂

Same here.. I was on youtube when i read Paz has two bombs and she dies and blows up and what not.. completely ruined the moment for me :/
oh yea.. some people get access to games earlier .. in that case.. I wish you luck but If that doesnt happen, I suggest you finish the main story line immediately, then come online, do your job and everything and Then get back to soaking in TPP .. That way, you wont lose your brain over having your ending ruined 🙂
Yea I remember some people playing GZ again on PSLive on PS4, few days before I got my pre-ordered GZ. This was the reason I got spoiled, and well other reason was my own foolishness for watching my usual MGSV trailers and demos in youtube ;).
Aye need to figure out how I do it, but I dunno if I can finish it immediately. It is like a crime to finish MGS game fast on first time. Still I’m not the only mod so will manage :).
It takes me about 10 times longer than it should to complete an RPG because I have to search EVERY corner and speak to every NPC 3 or 4 times.
A game like MGS TPP being open world. There is 0% chance you will see everything first play through. I am saying this only because I’ve heard you got Africa afghanistan Cyprus and more than likely a mountainous area and a ice region. Knowing how GZ works we can assume that each fortress / mission will have extra missions (side ops ) in same areA where mission was. Ok so let’s assume over 150 regular missions x 3 or 4 side ops a mission. Ok lol we getting close to 1k missions hell half of that is 500 that’s a lot. I’m assuming also not fact
Ground zeroes really does tell us a lot about mission structures I believe. Makes sense to keep the same. Even 150 regular missions is beast. Now think of all the unlocks you can get. They will be dumping DLC chapters later. I guarantee that. They need money , so they gonna milk this bad boy for everything they can.
I hope so. TPP, Mario Kart 8 and The Last Of Us are the only games I’ve wanted DLC for. You can guarantee TPP DLC will be good too.
only dlc I wont have complaints about, since kojima gives actual stuff made after games instead of holding content

I guarantee that you will be able to suit dd up. One of the main things about current war dogs that is amazing is the 75k$$ bullet proof vests. so think hideo and think of all the shit we will be able to give dog

Wow that is pretty cool, I have no idea how they train dogs in war these days. Still kinda sad imo that dogs be used in war ;(… I will take good care of my DD.
Anyway yep I’m now sure we can customize them somehow, ’cause TPP will be huge with all sorts of things we can do and R&D development items etc. And the “bond” with buddies go higher the more use them too so can maybe unlock many things.
Serious you wanna see ideas about war dogs. You tube war dog training. They have goggles for halos. Bullet proof vests. Cameras. Respond to whispers with mics and can kill quietly and spy not being noticed because they can fricking crawl
definitely i’d love to see DD with a pink diamond collar ripping out throats lol i bet they will add some sort of customisation like we’ve seen with the D-horse extra gear setup. i’m obsessed with this game already man.. i’m hoping it comes out before i go back to uni!
Yea idk I’m pretty good with games haha. If it handles like GZ then I won’t be worried about losing my buddy because as long as you move slowly it’s easy to get away.
yeah i’ve gotten very comfortable with GZ myself it feels like home now! so i won’t be too worried about actually losing support buddies – i’ll be careful – but the tension will be real since once they’re gone they’re gone for good 🙁
