Japanese Snake actor tries out Sony 3D viewer with MGSV:GZ
The Japanese voice actor for Snake, Akio Otsuka, tried out Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes on the PlayStation 4 using Sony’s ‘personal 3D viewer’ head mounted display.

Playing a third-person tactical shooter with a virtual reality headset? I believe that it’s a horrible combination.
The 3-D viewer does not do VR. Though Oculus Rift devs have managed to make a case for third person and RTS style VR.
Oh, my bad. So it’s like a 1080 p Virtual Boy with 3d capabilities, right?
And I recall the 3D viewer having a blu ray/dvd/cd tray. But it looks like it’s connected with a usb cable to the ps4.

Rumors strongly suggest that they are. But the Sony HMZ 3-D viewer is not a VR headset so this doesn’t really tell us anything.

Akio Otsuka is a fucking beast can’t wait to grab the JP version on March 20.
This is NOT a VR headset. Just basically a 3DTV strapped to your head. But I guess this means Ground Zeroes supports 3-D. At least on PS4.
