Kojima celebrates Snake actor Akio Otsuka’s birthday during voice recording session
During another voice recording session for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, Kojima celebrated the birthday of Akio Ōtsuka, whose birthday was a few days ago, on November 24th. Ōtsuka turned 55. For those who don’t know, he is the Japanese voice actor for both Solid Snake and Big Boss.
“VO shooting again today.”

For those wondering: the guy on the right is Tomokazu Sugita, the voice actor for Kaz.

A little bit Off-Topic, but looks like James Horan will get some “Solid” (See what i did there) Nominations for 2015 Best Villain in Gaming, because during the most recent Arkham Knight Trailer, and i’m pretty sure i’m not the only one who believes that Arkham Knight sounds just like Jack Rider, a DC Character that appeared in both Asylum and City, and was Voiced by James Horan.
Question: If Arkham Knight is Voiced by James Horan, who will be the Villain of 2015, Arkham Knight or Skull Face?

Of course the villain of 2015 will be Skull Face. I Like Arkham Games and the Arkham knight looks great but I have a pretty good idea or who he might be. Besides skull face has already fuc*ed big boss with mother base and he is going to fuc* him even more , because we have seen Skull Face alongside big boss and he doesn’t know what SF did to mother base.
Point is, either way, Arkham Knight or Skull Face, Jame Horan is still the Winner.
He was great in Arkham, he is an underrated Actor, hope Skull Face to make him more popular, same as how Edward Kenway got Matt Ryan the Role of Constantine.
Well that’s true. He did an outstanding work with the voice of skull face. I have to say that MGSV and Arkham Knight are the two games i’m looking forward the most for 2015.
To be honest, 2015 is the year in which i won’t be mad if TPP doesn’t get GOTY, as long as Arkham is the one to get it instead, and NO, i hope Uncharted and Tomb Raider won’t get GOTY 2015, so is either Arkham or TPP, no other choice.
I lost interest in Tomb raider when it became an xbox exlusive. I was looking forward to getting it on pc but oh well

Definitely one of Japan’s finest! and my favorite Male voice actor of all time! It’s not really surprise Kojima would personally celebrate his birthday along with the other cast. Even Konami gave the puma jacket, shoes and watch during one of the of the episodes of Kojima station!
Already 55 years old and still active as ever! Ikeda-san is 64 and is still doing Char after all these years ^^

Considering that the Japanese voice acting is being dubbed over the English cast’s performance i’d say the english version of the game is done. They are just finishing the japanese version of the game. I still hope the game is released between january and june.

Just realized that Matt Ryan aka Edward Kenway aka John Constantine could make a Great Liquid and Solid Snake in a Metal Gear Movie, and if Directed by Del Toro and Written by David Hayter, that would be a Match made in Heaven.

I get the feeling that we won’t see Liquid in the movie.
Imagine what storyline will take place in the movie, if it follows the current timeline of the game.
Imagine how a Metal Gear 1 movie as a follow up to The Phantom Pain would totally explain why they replaced Hayter by Sutherland, without replacing Otsuka, who’ll most likely deliver the japanese dub for the flick.
Del Toro himself suggested Kiefer for the role of Big Boss in TPP.
Imagine where Kojima is most likely going to put Norman Reedus next. 😀
The reason they only replaced Hayter is because it would have been useless to replace the Japanese Dub Voice as well, because they needed someone who can transmit emotions trough facial expressions, but that can also make a good Snake, and Kiefer is that One.
Sure, but why only replace David then, and not Robin Downes, Christopher Randolph or Antony Del Rio?
Because they’re not in Metal Gear 1, perhaps? 😀
Because Snake is the Main Character, the one that will appear in almost every Frame of MGSV, so you need a Motion Capture Actor or a Movie/TV Show Actor, as for Robin Atkin Downes, Christopher Randolph and Antony Del Rio, they are already Movie/TV Actors, unlike David Hayter who is a Voice Actor and Writer, and sometimes Director.
because snake is the one who will be given like three lines through the whole game… the other characters will talk as much as anyone in other MGS
