Kojima provides some gameplay info for Metal Gear Solid V
At the beginning of this month, Kojima provided a few small details via Twitter on some of the gameplay elements that will be implemented in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. You will be able to smash enemies into walls, and take their weapons without it being ID restricted as was the case in Metal Gear Solid 4.
Crawling will make a return as well, something that was absent in Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker.
Not like Manga like "PW", it will be "CQC enemies into walls!" for real.

You can steal the weapon from enemy and fire as shown in E3 trailer.

Restriction of using the enemy's weapon was because of the future setting w/ ID weapons. Next game setting is in old days so u can use them.

and yeah you can now steal enemy weapons due to the patriot system not being built, but at the same time i don’t really remember when they built it in the first plaace :

The technique was around since MGS1 at least, but they implemented the SOP system somewhere between MGS2 and MGS4.
i played MGS1-MGS3 last summer and i still didn’t remember it being mentioned there.
probably MGS4 right? i only saw my brother playing it and i last played it since 2010.
got really burn out after playing 3 main games in a row.
especially on how i read all the conversations, no skip cutscenes, procure all possible items and weapons in one playthrough, the easter eggs(like Emma and Johnny at the Big Shell bridge) picture tons of photos for references(Shagohad, Metal Gear Rex/Ray)
it seems MGS4 and Peace Walker are the games i’m having trouble getting back to all these years.
i had a little problem with MGS1, but i quickly managed to adapt to it and it’s amazing.
though the controls on the PSN version seems to have a delay and such
Naomi blocks your guns at some point in MGS1, I think that’s basically the same thing SOP does. But SOP gets implemented somewhere between MGS2 and MGS4.

to be honest i kinda wish they added like a hack mechanic(like in Ghost in the Shell) where you can just hack the guns to be used as soon as possible.
i do wonder how MGSV will end, im sure Kojima is gonna retcon alot of things from MG1/2 MSX games and might even introduce new characters and all
Yeah, that seems likely, we have already seen some new characters in the E3 trailer. But I also think some old ones we haven’t seen yet will make a return (Gray Fox and Naomi, for example).
i’m curious what would Gray Fox would look like here.

I assume he would look like a regular soldier, as he does during Outer Heaven. It would be interesting to see him like that, as a normal human being as opposed to a crazed cyborg ninja.
in the MSX games he seems like a normal soldier to me ^^
Yeah, that’s true, but I mean in a MGS game with todays technology (voice acting, facial animations and everything).
