Konami releases final Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain boxarts
Konami has shared images of the final versions of the boxart for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. One thing fans will immediately notice is that the line ‘A Hideo Kojima Game’ has also been removed from the North American boxes, as well as the Kojima Productions logo. Additionally, the box now features the mature rating by the ESRB instead of the placeholder ‘rating pending’ logo.

It remains to be seen whether the Kojima Productions logo will appear in the game itself. Though it did in the E3 demo, apparently that could still change.

Well, prepare the printers
haha great idea! Find a good screenshot of the game cover art with Kojima’s name on the internet, print it out and replace it as the new cover. XD
Don’t worry, when the game comes out I’m sure that soon will be available the cover scan modified with the logo and name in high resolution … and if not comes out, I’ll make it.

I like the idea but that kind of petition is as pointless as you can get, it is so small a thing to Konami they would never change it, also whatever made them change it is pretty large considering the act itself so again they won’t change it, we are also pretty close to release so changing it might not be possible.

There are already covers made. You don’t have to go through all that trouble.
It did appear, but without the logo text in the E3 trailer.
But in the E3’15 gameplay demo,Kojima Productions logo was there in all its glory!!!
This was to be expected. Still sad, anyway.
Not sure if I will take the time to print own cover, if I can do it well then maybe yeah lol. Sad that it’s removed as the name deserve to be kept there. Already got the original TPP cover image (left one) with Kojima’s name decorating my PS4.
Anyway we’ll see Kojima’s name all over the places in TPP, so I’m glad for that :).

Im not using this cover anyway, I will print out the Shinkawa cover thats on the front of the limited edition PS4 box art. This cover is boring and reminds me of the MGS4 cover.

edit: Ugh, just read it properly, no Kojima STILL? What’s going on? This will be my last Konami game.
You know what we should do? Nyx, you should start a “make your own cover” post, we all submit designs with Kojima’s name on them and the best one can be voted on. Then whichever one wins can be the “real official fan boxart” for us to all print out as a message to Konami.
Then we can all tweet “loving Kojima’s MGS5!” with pics of us posing with our games with the REAL cover on them to Konami and Kojima. You know, as a pro Kojima/anti Konami message.
Konami has become a JOKE. It’s like it’s being ran by someone’s drunk cat.
I just need some more good quality shinkawa art and I can make covers, as I am unsure of what piece of art to use as the cover, lol.
The last true MGS game, and it has uninspired box art like the rest. They couldn’t even get the side of Big Boss’ face with the eyepatch and horn, the one that truly shows the “demon” theme! That’s “You Had One Job” level of fail.
I bet the inside is reversed and we see the other side. It makes sense with the whole duality thing.
I thought the same thing. Hell, maybe there’d be a well-hidden Kojima Productions logo on that side too… but one can hope.
I agree with it being the last true MGS, but you can’t say you wouldn’t buy new MGS games without Kojima that will have Solid Snake or even Big Boss too.
I actually would not be interested in a mgs game that had no Kojima involvement. It’s his story, anything else wouldn’t be true canon. Just how I fee.

Okay, the “Hideo Kojima Game”… thing I was expecting that. But also removing Kojima Productions logo? Dick move, Konami.
why have that cover and no the ocelot+BB one like GZ with BB+kaz (just kaz wasnt there in the img out of japan 🙁 )
