Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops (Plus) now available digitally for PlayStation Vita
You can now download and play Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops and Portable Ops + on your PlayStation Vita or PlayStation TV. The game was originally released on PlayStation Portable in 2006 as the first ‘traditional’ handheld MGS. Portable Ops Plus served as an expansion released the following year.
The games can be purchased off the PlayStation Store, for €7.99/$9.99 each.

From the official Metal Gear Twitter:
“MGS: Portable Ops & Portable Ops + available now for direct DL from the NA PSVita/PSTV store. We appreciate all the fan requests for a playable version of this classic; and are grateful to Sony for their assistance in listing it. On PSVita, buttons can be remapped; we encourage trying out this PSP classic with your preferred configuration and capture some screenshots! FYI, the online functionality is limited. Also if you run into any other issues, please let us know and we’ll see if we can assist.
Portable Ops/+ for PSTV, if you’re having an error when trying to play the game, try deleting all files (including saves/data). Then redownloading the title and seeing if you’re able to play. This method has worked for some, and we’re told saves/data must also be fully removed from the system for it to work.”
Update 1/7/2017: The issue mentioned above is said to have been fixed:

konami should release all metal gear solid games on pc. especially silent hill.
Dude plzzzzz
This comment is so confusing that my head is hurting
silent hill is my favourite MGS
1, 2, and the 5s are on PC (I don’t count Rising). 1 needs work. If you get it working on current, supported operating systems, you’re lucky. Possibly 2 as well, but haven’t tried it recently.
Would you guys buy it? It’s the only one I haven’t played and I don’t know if its worth it, and well I could play it on my brothers ps vita.
Yeah it’s a pretty good game (regular Portable Ops, the Plus version doesn’t have the story mode).
Oh really ? Thanks Nyxus I didn’t know the plus version didn’t have the story mode and that was actually the one I was going to buy
Well that was the case for the physical version at least. http://metalgear.wikia.com/wiki/Metal_Gear_Solid:_Portable_Ops_Plus
Plus has separate missions where you import your story data (not export, but it doesn’t delete or lock your story data like HD transfarring). The game has new soldiers to collect with a bit better stat chances. Like I said though, you can’t export those to the story original. There are also more levels.
Yeah, the name is really confusing. Calling it “Portable Ops Plus” makes it seen like it has more content, not less.
Should’ve called it “Portable Ops Minus,” amirite?
If I had a Vita or a PSTV I would get it. I’ve played it a few times on PSP, but the lack of a second stick made the camera controls really uncomfortable.
My personal favorite theme of all Metal Gear

GOAT Metal Gear song, underrated as fuck!
did they add dual analog suport?
“On PSVita, buttons can be remapped; we encourage trying out this PSP classic with your preferred configuration.”
Looks like you can remap the camera to the second stick.
yes you can, i did it and now finally i can play it comfortably
actually portable ops feels better on the vita than peace walker… it seems the MPO staff wasn’t sure what to do with the control config (they didn’t use the classic camera because they where porting MGO with singleplayer missions, even when the psp had one analog stick but they really wanted multiplayer) so they let the player configure the thing… and it works pretty great on vita, almost as good as MGS3 with item menus limitations, unlike MPW which can’t be configured and you always feel unconformable because there’s lots of wasted vita control inputs
FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCKKK!!!
MGS3 Remake visuals….
For pachinko!!!!!!! LMAO KONAMI!!

Was just about to post it and you beat me! 😀
Yeah, we all knew this was coming. But Snake Eater “remake” looks so beautiful. Is that Fox Engine?
is not fox engine, is jus CGI made with Koji-pro FOX assets (for all I know those 3d models existed since 2012 for the MGS3 3DS port promotion materials)
Also my favorite OSTs for Portable Ops 🙂

here’s to you the cleanest version of the COMPLETE MGS PO theme I could get…

Thus is great news! I own the original PSP version UMDs and beat them over and over. I then bought them from PSN digitally hoping to one day have them in my Vita. I missed that small window when PO was mistakenly available for download in NA for like a few days. I just installed PO and + last night and started playing. PO is one of the best MGS games out there. And I’m one of the believers that PO is canon.
i agree with you on the canon thing.
Sweet! I know Kojima said the general story is canon while the details aren’t but c’mon man. It’s part of the MGS saga even if others don’t wanna believe it. Plus awesome voice acting, cutscenes, and ACTUAL boss fights!
Sokolov’s part of it is weird though… Seeing as how he should’ve been officially dead. I’d say getting slammed by Volgin is definitely death.
Agreed. It was a bit confusing about Sokolov still being alive. I wonder who it was that decided to resurrect him and Why he/she thought it was a smart move. That’s probably partly why Kojima said some of the details of PO were a little off.
Can’t wait! Downloading as soon as I get home! I’ve been waiting for this ever since I got my Vita (when MGS HD came out)!
Wish they would just put it on the PSN for PS4 and PS3.
Wasn’t released to PS TV after all… Guess I’m stuck to my Vita. No Metal Gear but PS One works on PS TV. Bunch o’ liars.
