Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain releasing on September 1st
The official release date for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain unintentionally revealed by IGN Italy in their announcement video. The video that was planned for tomorrow was uploaded a day early by mistake. It’s a 7 minute interview with Hideo Kojima in which he answers questions about the game. At the end the release date is unveiled:
September 1, 2015 world wide.
The video has since been taken down, but you can see it here.
As annoying as this may be for Konami and IGN, the cat is out of the bag now, so we don’t have much choice but to publish the date as well.

He’s kinda like Miyazaki, though at least he’s kinda semi-retire and concentrates more on that ghibli museum.
Doubt it this will be the last seeing he already has some plans on the next theme as well as Konami will force him out to do more MGS in the near future.
I would say this sounds very true this time because both Snake’s saga will come to an end with this. The only way he would return is for remakes or Boss’s and cobra units exploit in World War 2.
Yeah he has been talking about that several times. He wanted the younger staff to make it but they didn’t dare.
There is a speculative guess from my end why he himself will at least do the boss’s story himself. Pure speculation. I would say Skullface is a bit younger than big boss, maybe 3 to 4 years. The factory that was blowed up was done by no one else than boss and her cobra unit under the false information supplied by CIA. I guess that could sum up with the story and theme of TPP which is Revenge. Big Boss is the last known son of boss. Zero is only person who knew her since her teenage years. If you look at the location where the factory is located in google maps. Skull face is Hungarian so If we assume that factory was in Hungary then on google map it shows the distance between normandy and hungary is 1719 km. Then again I m just assuming too much.
If Kojima says ”it is mine last metal gear” it is not…
I think he has said that once or twice before. What he means is that the circle of the war.. the SAGA of MGS is over and EVERY corner and every angle is now taken care of. Like How HP series would be incomplete without Goblets of fire.. THIS is MGS’s Goblet of Fire 😀 Thereby completing the whole Saga

Well yes and no. He usually says it’ll be his last game as director, but MGS will continue. This time I’m sure he said this is the last MGS game.
No he didn’t. Go watch again. He said its the end of the “MGS saga” which relates to Solid Snake and Big Boss. He said even if MGS goes on, this is the last game in the saga and his last MGS game. The series will go on. He’ll probably stick around.

Am I the only one disappointed with a September 1 release date? I was hoping for June, July at the latest.
I was saddened for about 10 seconds, then I realized. This is basically 6 months out and I have still have to unlock all the trials in Ground Zeroes. This gives me a month to play the shit out of every game before release. I only need maybe 2 days each to finish every game. But I’m going to try and do everything there is to do in every title. and I’m going to enjoy every minute of it. MGS 1, MGS 2, MGS 4 finish the Solid Snake series. Then onto MGS 3, MGS: PW then the blessed MGS: GZ’s. Finishing off the year with the biggest and baddest of all. PHANTOM PAIN then legitimately going for a platinum in that game. I never try to get all the achievements or trophies in a game. But this… It’s been to long!!!
well I’ve basically finihsed everything there is to do in GZ .. hell i know the patrols by now and can sometimes guess where they will respawn.. i’ve even gone full missions without stealth killing every guy cause it’s actually fun because the soldiers are challenging.. so yea.. everything is done.. same goes for MGS 3 and Peacewalker :’/

I have been content with waiting and I was fine with any release date as long as they try their hardest and release a none broken product, and I’m sticking with that September is just fine in my books, lol I think everyone is disappointed because they were expecting a June release date.
When watching the video ppl can understand how genius Kojima is when he explain the stuff. And he don’t imo need to thank us for having patience, instead we should be bowing to the man for all his hard work. His speech in the end, about TPP being final MGS for him and hoping fans be excited of it made me almost cry ;(.

My pc I bought a little over year ago was about 1100€ and it’s pretty great. There was much expensive ones but I’ve been able to play most games with high settings on this one.
Can get good ones these days with pretty decent prices I think.

You spend 4800$$ on a PC, you should be kicked in your head. Why not save 400 in six months and buy a ps4 or xb1? Or just pay someone to build you a gaming PC for 1k to 1200k. 4800 is building your comp on a computer site and getting name brand everything that you don’t need. 2400 is too much

Me too :). It might be for Kojima :C, although he never seems to get older so who knows. I think he still do Silent Hills and then something else with his life. Hope Metal Gear continues, but they might as well end with the best and most epic one, TPP :).
If MGSVI would be developed by someone else than Kojima, not sure how I’d feel about it. MG1&2 remake would indeed be fantastic, but not sure if it ever happen as TPP brings saga into full circle.
If I remember correctly, Master Kojima said last year that “MGSV won’t be the end of the story” or something similar.

…not really. It’s impossible to stay away. This site is perfection. Game wise we have Majoras Mask 3D that just came out, The Witcher 3, Zelda Wii U, new Mario Kart 8 DLC, (8 tracks!) STAR FOX!!! Uncharted 4 and whatever new GDC announcements and news we’ll see starting tomorrow. Then next we’ve got E3 which isn’t too far away, you never know we might get some release dates for new awesome games that release before September. But even if we don’t we’ve got The Witcher 3’s ridiculously large world to run around.

Well, she’s doing a web comic on tumblr or something called Cucumber Quest and she selfishly decided that nobody could continue the “Let’s Destroy Metal Gear” even going as far as shutting down a Kickstarter to make a comic for MGS4 and Peace Walker

Ah, waiting causes worry. For instance when I heard, “This time, it’s not just your Mother Base.”
At one point during the interview with Kojima in the leaked video, he said “In early instances of the game, players will complete missions and enjoy the story as a standalone experience, and develop their Mother Base. However, at a certain point, the game opens up and each player’s story becomes intertwined with the experiences of others online, as they complete with rival Mother Bases, or invite others to their base as allies.”
Which is all well and good for people into that sort of thing. However, I’ve stopped playing games online. So if for some reason this feature becomes mandatory or “only” going single player shows that it isn’t the main way to go (like PW has shown numerous times over) for those who play solo instead of online, then this game may not be for me after all. Just speculation of course, but I don’t want people messing around with my shit, or having to be online just to be able to play. =(
I’m pretty sure he went on record relatively recently saying that you can go through TPP offline (Or at least without the invasion mode enabled, I guess) and you’ll still be fine for it. I’m kinda in your boat though really, I’d like to not have people constantly invading my transit station during my first bloody play-through!
Yeah he said that one could turn the online options off for the MB battles not so long ago. But he also said that if you want the full experience you’ll have to be online as your MB will still be attacked but by the AI.
In my case, the full experience here wouldn’t necessarily be the best one. The AI in the game will likely waste me a good number of times when the invasions begin anyway.
Any player who invaded my base wouldn’t get much of a challenge taking my shit cause… well, I suck. Pretty much the main reason I never play games online. =]

Its been about mother base battles. Never got into a versus mode. The catch is while you play story someone can attack your base. Details never confirmed om exactly how it all works. Even with new interview that quote doesnt say exactly. Better off waiting for features to be explained and announced. No way they will ruin mgsv by allowing random people invade your ” stealth infiltration” story mode wise. I believe it also wont be our story mother base. It will be like a second base we have for online battles. Glad someone is paying attention to thou.
Yerr watchdogs had that problem for me, jus wanted to do my own thing then id have people invading my game tryin to download shit from me, ok a couple of times but got annoying an cudnt turn it off, hope mgsV is not like this
Kojima has stated before that the online mother base stuff can be turned off. I’ll be playing, at least my first play through all alone! I’m with you on what you’re saying though. Not everything has to always be connected. For some reason a ton of developers think it’s a thing everyone wants.

Things certainly came up. Kojima propbably still feels the Fox Engine still has something to prove and wants to make the game as bitching as possible.
I’m glad to finally hear when the release date is, to bad for me that I recently decided to join the army and by the time I get through all the tests and interviews and if I get in then it will probably be around this time when I have to go to another state for three months training which means I may not be able to play this for a little while longer. I realise now I should have made a big life decision after the game came out silly me.

I just finished a bag of liqueur dark chocolate truffles and it got me thinking.(and panting) Kojima unveiled The Phantom Pain under the name Moby Dick Studios. He unveiled Silent Hills with a P.layable T.easer that needed to be unlocked to show the trailer. And it was just mentioned in passing during E3. “oh by the way P.T. available for download…or whatever. >.>” And boom! Silent Hills Could this be another Red Herring? I need to drink some water. @~@

I’m gonna take the approach that what we are seeing is the delayed release date, Kojima was just kind enough to not give an early release date and decided until they could actually give a good one and not a simple estimate that can be messed with.
Good point. I’m still a little salty about GTAV on PC getting pushed back. And apparently Mad Max was pushed back same day as MGSV so I might have to get a temp job to get both lol.
