New Japanese Ground Zeroes trailer released
In about a week (on February 22nd), the PlayStation 4 will launch in Japan, and Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes will follow about a month later. It’s not surprising commercials involving both products are starting to pop up on the net.
Here is a new Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes trailer in Japanese. There is not much new footage, so don’t worry about spoilers.
And here is a general PlayStation 4 commercial that has Ground Zeroes (very briefly) at the end:

…Something of note on the cover art for the PS3/PS4/360/XB1 editions of MGSV GZ
http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/81WLXYKZTCL._SL1500_.jpg
Is that about the extras you get when playing both parts?
…I’m guessing that what ever gear you unlock in Ground Zeroes is transferred to The Phantom Pain.
Way to uglyify the boxart even more Konami. As if the partially blocked lens flare wasn’t retarded enough.
Maybe it’s a sticker… probably not though.
Huge ass sticker!
It is a sticker.
…I’m guessing that MGS V is going to have a bilingual audio track. For example, in Canada, products sold in Quebec must be bilingual.
Wait, are you telling me that the mg saga is also dubbed in french?
……
What blocked lens flare are you talking about?
The story is 2 hours, we’ve seen most of it. Does this trailer show something we haven’t seen about gameplay or story? I don’t want to see anymore but in the other hand, l just can’t resist watching it. 😀
There is absolutely nothing new.
Thanks, indeed nothing new at all. It has a lot of DAN-DA-DA-DAAN! 😀
George, there is nothing new in this trailer. Just a PS4 ad with Ground Zeroes previous footage that you saw already. You can watch it.
Thanks, l just watched it. I noticed the newest build which has drops of rain on Snake’s goggles, the thunder in the sky looks far better. 😉
I did notice alot of improvements over the TGS built. They obviously spent a lot of time polishing this game. That’s the first thing I noticed actually, the graphics looked realy good.
You call this a trailer?
PlayStation Japan calls it a trailer. And technically it is.
Did you rike it?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JBLkYc9ghNs
Hahaha! Nice one, George!
I just watched the general PS4 commercial and I was meaning to ask you guys and girls: what’s your ‘top 5 most anticipated games of 2014, besides metal gear’ list?
Top 5:
1. Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes
2. Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze
3. Infamous Second Son
4. The Evil Within
5. The Order: 1886
Here is my full list: http://www.videogameshelf.com/?p=2012
I specifically mentioned ‘besides metal gear’ in my comment.
But you got a nice list, Nyx!
Personally, if l don’t include Ground Zeroes on my list, it won’t be a top five because nothing else interests me right now. 😉
In that case every game on the list goes up and number 5 is Super Smash Bros.
1) MGSV: Ground Zeroes
2) Dark Souls 2
3) InFamous: Second Son
4) The Order: 1886
5) Rime
Rime? May I ask you what Rime is all about? I never heard of it.
Not much is known about Rime, but by the looks of it, it is a game about exploration, solitude, and survival. A journey to find something. I’m a huge Team ICO fan, so this game blew me away.
Take a rook.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V-JunUax8xg
I took a rook and you’re absolutely right! I dig the style and it looks promising. I’ll keep an eye out for this gem!
Rime? May I ask you what Rime is all about?
You really think the order will be any good I just haven’t had high hopes for it I think it will turn out to just be a mediocre shooter graphics that are good but not great. I remember people voting for there most anticipated game ign and the order got more votes then metal gear solid 5 and it wasn’t just for ground zeroes so that is pretty terrible because there is no way this game is better then mgs5
I’m actually not entirely happy that Dark Souls 2 and Ground Zeroes are coming out so close together. The Souls games are such an all consuming proposition that I think it will be hard for me to switch to Ground Zeroes before I am done with it. On the other hand, I don’t feel like I will be able to wait to be finished before playing Ground Zeroes either.
Watch Dogs anyone?
Watch Dogs takes the 1# spot on my list! I’m actually more excited about this upcoming IP than mgs v: gz. (yes, I’m bracing myself for negative responses and dislikes from the community)
If they ever release the damn thing. I bought it back way in September and they still haven’t given a release date.
You won’t get any hate from me but I will say you are crazy. I actually completely forgot watch dogs was coming out I was excited about but then they pushed it back and now ground zeroes is coming out before it so I won’t get it for a while now. Plus ubisoft games have a thing where they look so damn good when you watch gameplay but then when you play it not as fun happens to me all the time with ac games
Yeah, I know what you mean. FC 3 and AC 3 suffers from it, but the idea of controlling your environment with your smartphone, sounds awesome! I don’t know much about the main plot, though.
I will probably have a lot of fun with watch dogs when I get it, it reminds me of my favourite show person of interest
Mew-Genics, Binding of Isaac Rebirth and Hotline Miami 2. That’s about it as of now, of course GZ. There are more games I’m interested in but not really hyped.
Mew genics, it’s developed by the same studio who brought us Binding of Isaac, right? What’s the goal of this game, anyway?
No, not exactly. Team Meat didn’t make Binding of Isaac, Edmund Mcmillen did and since he’s part of Team Meat people often mistaken Isaac as a game made by Edmund and Tommy but Ed made that game with a dude called Florian Himsl. So it is from the guys that made Super Meat Boy (Edmund Mcmillen and Tommy Refenes) and the goal of the game is somewhat unclear as of now, it’s basically a crazy cat lady simulator, you hoard cats, make cats, breed cats, it has elements of Pokemon, Animal Crossing and The Sims, it’s somewhat unclear as of now exactly what the game is but I am super excited for it.
Sorry, sounds like a lot of fun. Wait, did you just mentioned pokémon? Does the game contain a rpg fighting system?
Yeah there are cat fights in the game, and from what I understand the combat will be somewhat similar to Pokemon. And the number of cats you can breed in the game are like… billions, literally. A big part of the game is the randomized nature of it, if a cat dies it’s gone forever, if you get really good cat you can clone it and hope it grows up to be as good as the last one but there are factors while it grows up that might change its personality and all kinds of shit, sounds like a really interesting game
Screwing around with genotypes and phenotypes? Sounds fun!
Assembling a team of fucked up creations to duke it out online ? Sign me in, already!
Will it be available on the PS store?
No word on online yet, pretty sure it’s singleplayer only. I’m pretty sure it’ll be on psn, yeah.
1. Mgs5 ground zeroes
2. Super smash brothers
3. Mario kart 8
4. Donkey kong tropical freeze
5. Infamous second son
I know you said besides metal gear but I just couldn’t leave it out I’m just to excited. Super smash brothers is going to be amazing I love playing brawl and have probably gotten hundreds of hours out of it I just hope snake gets into the wii u version somehow
same opinion here, but Little Mac looks really cool too!
If Snake gets excluded from the ssb roster, I wouldn’t freak out or something.
Neither would I but I used him a lot in the last game so it would be great if he was in this one but if he’s not not that’s ok I think I will be using little mac a lot anyway he looks great
0) Metal Gear Solid: GZ or TPP (PS4)
1) Witcher 3 (PC)
2) Dark souls 2 (PS3)
3) Diablo III: Reaper Of Souls/Heroes Of The Storm (PC)
4) Destiny (PS4)
5) The Evil Within (PS4)
6) Transistor (PC)
7) Persona 5 (PS3)
8) Titanfall (PC)
9) Persona 5 (PS3)
10) Infamous:SS (PS4)
The Witcher series? Man, I really need to play those games.Everyone keeps telling me to play it, but I’m not a fan of fantasy games.
May I ask you what the combat feels like? Is it a bit clunky?
What about the overall story? Is it a good adaptation of the saga’s of wiedźminie?
It is fantastic adaptation of the saga with fantastic lore, quests. The second game is beautiful with it’s fantastic and gorgeous RED Engine.
Combat in the first game is not really that good, the second game improved a lot of the battle system issues so no worries on that.
You can expect a very good RPG from the Witcher series and Witcher 3 will be fantastic + they are making This: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P99qJGrPNLs – you should be excited for this.
Looks amazing and it has this ‘blade runner/snatcher’ vibe going on.
I’ll just use your format: You will find I’m a huge RPG fan.
0: Metal Gear Solid: GZ, and TPP(ps3(don’t have a PS4 yet) for GZ, PS4 for TPP(hopeful, but very doubtful for 2014 release))
1: X(Monolith Project)(WIi U)
2: Pillars of Eternity(PC)
3: The Witcher 3(PC)
4: Persona 5(PS3)
5: South Park: The Stick of Truth(PC, maybe PS3 because I don’t see any advantage to playing it on PC since it has South Park graphics, I mean how could a PC even improve them?)
6: Dragon Age: Inquisition(PC)
7: Wasteland 2(PC)
8: Smash Bros.(Wii U)
9: Dark Souls 2(PC)
10: Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem(possibly 2014)(Wii U) – I’m a huge Fire Emblem, and SMT fan so this is basically a given even though I know basically nothing about it.
Only 1 game being announced could possibly eclipse MGS, and that would be an announcement of Skies of Arcadia 2(SoA is my favorite game ever just ahead of MGS3), but sadly I doubt that will ever happen.
1.MGSV
2. The Evil Within
3. Transistor
4. Watch Dogs
5. The Division
http://nekkedsnake.wordpress.com/2014/01/16/top-5-wanted-games-in-2014/
Transistor looks pretty cool.(at least, from what I could gather of the gameplay video)
Damn, your list is almost identical to my list.
1. Titanfall
2. Infamous: Second Son
3. Watch Dogs
4. The Witcher 3: Wild’s Hunt
5. The Order: 1886
Tom Clancy’s The Division & Halo 5 would have been within my top 5, however idk if they’re releasing in 2014. Btw, is it bad that I plan on getting MGS:GZ for both Xbox One & PlayStation 4?
That’s a interesting question: I’m planning to buy the game for PS4, since I don’t see the real advantage of having two versions of this game. Yeah, I know about the deja vu mission and the jamais vu mission and I personally like the jamais vu better than the deja vu mission, but I think it’s a waist of time and money. Then again, you aren’t obligated to listen to my almighty wisdom (ugh, ugh), so you could do whatever you want with your money.
I have a question for you as well. You mentioned halo 5 as a potential spot on your top 5 list and I assume you’re a huge bungie/343 studios fan, so why didn’t you include Destiny on your list?
I might get GZ for XB1 when it has dropped in price, but for now I’ll stick with the PS4 version.
1. FINAL FANTASY XV
2. EVOLVE
3. DESTINY
4. J STARS VICTORY VS
5. THE WITCHER 3
Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes
Super Smash Bros for Wii U
The Evil Within
Watch_Dogs
Destiny
1.Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes
2. JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure
3. Final Fantasy X | X-2 HD
4. Lightning Returns Final Fantasy XIII
5. Drakengard 3
unfortunately i won’t be able buy Ground Zeroes day 1 since i have already ordered Final Fantasy X | X-2 HD, Lightning Returns Final Fantasy XIII both are Collector’s edition and will soon order the Collector’s edition of Drakengard 3.
so it’s pricey as hell and i don’t have a lot of time playing it tbh.
at least on summer i’ll have all the time i need.
i’ll buy the PS3 JPN version along with Metal Gear Rising Revengeance Special Edition that includes all DLC(including Solid Snake sword)
Okay, I saw a few titles on some lists which I never knew off, but Drakengard 3 and JoJo’s bizarre adventure takes the cake!
I assume that the Drakengard series is an rpg serie?
But JBA leaves me completely in the dark! Would you like to explain the basics and the main goal of both games to me?
Drakengard is like a hybrid of hack and slash and RPG elements.
The biggest draw to games like Drakengard and Nier is the story and how it maybe crazy at times.
Tons of themes including incest, violence, lots of killing(especially Drakengard 3), the world is chaotic.
The controls might not suit the average gamer, and may need to adjust to it for awhile.
Sure the graphics aren’t the best(some textures have even PS2 like ones), and the controls feel old school, but the story will draw you and the characters that interact with.
I would say you would need a lot of patience in order to enjoy the game.
Games like this, along with Deadly Premonition(my GOTY of 2013), Earth Defense Force, Killer is Dead and tons of niche games would require you a lot of patience to enjoy it.
So if your looking for something unique and interesting, i say go and buy Drakengard 3.
As for JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, it’s basically a combination of Street Fighter IV’s mechanics + 3D movement style of play.
you can jump and go over head over your opponent, but you could also sidesteps and avoid some of the projectiles of the characters.
It is a fighting game, but the unique thing about this is how it manages to capture the manga’s source material perfectly.
It may not have the speed of 2D fighting games like KOF or Arc System games, but the battle system can be fun and creative at times.
Just pick one of these videos from Midna Light
http://www.youtube.com/channel/UCz4GCnY4I0380v7GmXQQSWw/videos
Since he plays pretty high level stuff with multiple characters.
The game is really for JoJo fans first, then for fighting game fans 2nd. so if your a huge fan of the series, you’ll enjoy all the references and trademarks from the manga.
I watched this video: http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=FFheBV5-Ds0
I have no idea what they’re saying to eachother nor do I understand why the characters get supported by ghosts. (I believe they’re ghosts), but I honestly think this game looks pretty funny and really competitive (Just as competitive as SF). I assume Drakengard and JBA are “Japan only” games? Doesn’t matter, though. I probably need a lot of patience to actually enjoy these games, because I can’t read Kanji.
Sorry for late reply.

Thank you for the information. I’ll take a look!
i was watching the first ground zeroes gameplay presentation yesterday and in that snake throwed a yellow smoke granade to call the helicopter and Kojima said you could call it everywhere you wanted to. But in the last gameplay presentations they had 3 or 4 spots in the map where you could call helis. Did they change their mind or am i missing something?
I think kojima said you can still call a helicopter with a flare you can also do it on the idroid
