New MGSV Ground Zeroes themed HDD covers for PlayStation 4 revealed by Kojima
Remember the tweet by Kojima from a few weeks ago, when he posted a picture of what seemed to be a new MGSV themed PlayStation 4 HHD case? Well, turns out that’s what it was, and there’s more than one. Check them out below, along with Kojima’s comments.

Kojima did not provide any more details aside from these photos.
Update: The Japanese Sony Store site has been updated with high quality images of all the covers. The three varieties are ‘Big Boss’, ‘Skull Mark’ and ‘DD Mark’, and are available in black and white.

Yeah, it’s a bit weird, but my guess is that they will release a new line of covers for The Phantom Pain, and these just carry the GZ license.
Still, kinda makes no sense. Who would buy a GZ PS4, if there are TPP PS4s standing right next to it? And it must cost quite some dollar to produce the GZ PS4, I just don’t get why they bother with the “old“ franchise in the first place?

I wonder what they’d look like mix matched.
I don’t have a PS4 yet, is this part of the console easy to custom/replace? I’d hate it if it need some heavy skills and tools to change it lol, I really like the MSF and BB’s ones.
its pretty simple, you just slide off the original and then slide the new one back on. No tools required, its so easy a caveman can do it. haha

Claro que si! I really liked all three of them but I think i’ll wait till TPP to get one… I’m sure some of the manufacturers might want to make extra and sell them apart if they have extras, I think i’ll wait till then. It’s bound to happen
It looks like these covers will only be available on the Japanese Sony Store, and only together with a new PS4…
2,000 yens a piece, and you can only get one for each PS4 you buy.

Why is he still pushing Ground Zeroes stuff out, I wonder? I won’t be nearly as successful as The Phantom Pain and most people have moved on from it. (?)
Probably because it’s the only one that’s out right now, so it makes sense for Konami to promote it, as opposed to a game that hasn’t released yet. Expect the Phantom Pain merchandise to be kicked into gear after the game’s release, or close to it.
