Art of Japanese Illustration offering three new Metal Gear prints by Shinkawa
Website ‘Art of Japanese Illustration’ has unveiled three new Metal Gear artworks that will be sold at their online store. Two of them feature Metal Gear Solid V prints, while the third shows Solid Snake standing in front of Metal Gear REX, as seen in MGS1.

The AOJI Gallery unveils three new artworks drawn by Yôji Shinkawa joining the official artworks collection dedicated to the legendary universe of Metal Gear Solid, few days before the launch of the next opus.
Named as “V, by Yôji Shinkawa” and “Diamond Dogs, by Yôji Shinkawa”, two out of three new art editions are issued from the Metal Gear Solid: The Phantom Pain and depicts two of the already legendary characters: Big Boss and Quiet. Note that “V, by Yôji Shinkawa” is only available in Extra-large size (92x100cm) and 10 units solely.
The third original creation was selected on a special guideline: express the pure essence of the Metal Gear Series through the eyes of the one and only artistic director of the franchise… “REX Yôji by Shinkawa”.
In partnership with Konami Digital Entertainement, the Metal Gear Solid Artwork Collection includes creations from 1998’s ‘Metal Gear Solid’ up to ‘Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain’ (2015). The framerate on Xbox 360 is 20FPS during the day time and it has a constant stutter. It can reach 30FPS at night. Motherbase is very choppy with screen tearing. Get it on current gen.
That’s what I was afraid off I have also seen a ps3 motherbase and it looked bad FPS-wise, but it is was recorded with a phone so I was not sure…
Believe me it’s bad. I gonna wait for either my Steam purchase to unlock or Monday for the PS4 collectors edition to show up.

that’s bad news. I wanted to buy tpp for ps3, but looking at ground zeros it was horrible, almost unplayable with the antialiasing nad framerate. I hoped that they would improve TPP for PS3 to the max but well…. dont have money for ps4 and im not even gonna talk about my pc… That means im propably watch a walkthrough on youtube ;(

It looks WAY better then ground zeroes. Hardly any large stepping (Aliasing). But the stuttering is criminal. Especially on D Horse. I don’t even want to play it. I’ll wait till Sunday or Monday for the superior releases.

I remember reading ages ago that snake has like 100 bodies in him. Like teeth and shit. And the shrapnel in his skull. I hope we see them and how it affects him later in the game.

I’ve played quite a few games with not so good fps and it hasn’t always bothered me. But I guess everyone think of it differently when see it. Of course when play TPP wanna have the most enjoyable experience, but hopefully it don’t bother everyone who play on older platforms :).
A sub 30FPS framerate can be playable in some games. It’s the choppy stuttering and hitching that really ruins TPP. Framerate drops more when enemies close in and surround you. If I had a choice I would avoid the last gen release like the plague.
well im kinda used to bad framerate ,i mean ps3 had the most shitty ports in their first years… i remember playing gta 4 with a really bad frame rate (12-20 and rarely 30 ) i finished that game , but didnt enjoyed much the last mission because of the bad draw distance.
then bayonetta that while kinda runs well to 30fps ,sometimes the game drops to 15-20 , bud overall works well.
then…my pc cant handle good graphics ,but i beat far cry 3 (fps around 10-20 ) , so i dont know i think is not going to be a problem for me the bad fps lol

The game is fine on Xbox 360. Very pretty for last gen. You just need to accept that the framerate is poor.

Does Shinkawa have any physical works and has anyone seen them in person by chance or does everything of his that gets released go through the digital machine? I’d love to see some physical pen and inks but I’m sure that’s an impossibility in terms of logistics.
Hey random question for you guys. I bought the digital copy of mgsv from the psn store and the physical collectors edition. They both come with pre order bonuses. Im going to install the digital copy first because i wont have the disc copy on day one. So question is will installing and playing the digital copy first somehow mess up being abel to use the pre order bonuses that come with the physical disc copy since i;ll be useing and installing that later? Sorry i kno this might be a confuseing question.

I’ve never used a digital then physical version of a game. But I would assume it would work together like one game and two discs only the save would count. The codes I guess would be the similar. The CE you’d get extra so I guess you’ll end up with duplicates of a couple in The End. If so just sleep for a week and see if he dies…..

I had already purchased the Physical Day 1 edition, but i recently bought the digital edition too. Not because I care about stupid DLC, but because I simply MUST play this game ASAP! 75$ down the drain for having to wait 9 hours less? It’s worth it for this game!

Unless Konami has some sort of proprietary thing that makes it so you have to use digital pre-order items with digital pre-order copies only, you will be fine. I have bought digital copies of games numerous times in the past (for the same reason you have) and been able to use the pre-order/other bonuses between the digital and physical copies as I saw fit.

I will never understand why they stopped doing Shinkawa’s covers. The CGI one are so generic
the art of Yoji is incredible, and one thing that really impress me is that he make these drawings so quick, he make it look so easy when is not easy at all, i saw a video on Youtube of him drawing in a convention i think, he made a full canvas of Big Boss in like 5 minutes.

For last gen users …expect performance analysis on PS3 and Xbox360 within next 48 hours…from their comments,they said that MGSV is trully the game that utilized the last gen platforms as best as possible and Koji pro done it beautifully

If you cant read the article right,it your problem….dips are on all versions of the game,including the pc…if you call 1 second FPS drop from 60-59 not a constant 60 FPS then we have nothing to talk about
also it happend that the FPS dropped to 30-48 FPS in some cutscenes that lasted rly short…

My point was that you don’t have to be ritch to have a high end PC, you just have to save money for one, and most of all to have plans for future with that PC for more than Gaming, like Twitch Streaming, Movie/Music Making etc.

well i cant afford a good pc or ps4 ,so im expecting the ps3 version to work fine… i mean sandbox or big open world games dont work well in ps3 … i mean it was a nightmare to play gta 4 in ps3 ,i dont know about gta 5 though ,i didnt play it.

GTA4? that game was terribly optimized on consoles and especially on PC at launch..thankfully the performance was better with patching
the good thing in PC you have alot of mods and a active community that can fix those problems ,but in ps3 even with 5-10 patches ,the game still works like shit :/

i think the last time i played the game was in 2013 ,so no idea if they released another patch ,but at least for me the game didnt work well.

Well, for the longest time (months or even years) it was just fine. Everything went to hell after the guide and the game itself broke street date. Almost everyone I talk to (it seems) has the game. That stresses me out. Then there are the twitch streamers. I know to avoid that, but my biggest concern for the longest time has been the “SURPRISE!” comments. I feel like I know way more than I should, but I can’t just leave because the MGS community are just about the only people I talk to.
Keep the faith my friend… the gatsu with destroy all that try to ruin it for any of us 🙂

Hey moderators or anyone else, I have a few questions about MGSV: TPP if you don’t mind answering (if you can):
1. Have they released any new information on how to transfer the GZ save files to TPP to get the cool bonuses??
I’ve 100% completed GZ and rescued all the required personnel/recruits as well. 😀
2. Regarding the buddies, have they confirmed that if they can die in battle?? or when they are close to dying, they will be automatically fultoned out by Kaz (so they can not die at all, only get injured)?
3. Regarding the cutscenes for TPP … will you be able to encounter them all? or will some be missable?
Because I read some of the reviews/impressions, and they said if you put in a lot of effort in the Mother Base section of the game (eg. visiting it regularly, management, talking/ hanging out with recruits/main cast, etc), you will find that a lot of drama and story (cutscenes) unfolds on Mother Base (like a tv show)! so some cutscenes are activated on certain conditions maybe … haha
Is it the same case with exploring the open world as well?

3.I think some will be missable, because if you don’t visit for example MB so often, might miss some cutscene which would happen there. It could also work in open world areas too. Not 100% sure. I suggest playing slowly and doing everything ;), to see it all.

Yeah, that’s what I was thinking … because I read that there are a lot of Kojima/Metal Gear Humour moments as well as drama in the cutscenes that occur on Mother Base and out in the field. But they activate on certain conditions such as visiting the base often. 🙂
