Check out this Yoji Shinkawa art for Square Enix title Left Alive
At the PlayStation press conference for Tokyo Game Show 2017, a new game was announced by Square Enix. The game, titled Left Alive, is a survival action shooter with character designs by none other than Yoji Shinkawa. As Metal Gear fans will know, Shinkawa was the artist for Metal Gear Solid since the original PlayStation game, and one of the most important people behind the series. He is currently employed at the new Kojima Productions, but creates art for other projects as well, like Call of Duty III: Zombies, and his work can easily be recognized for its distinctive style. Interesting thing though. Konami actually announced Zone Of The Enders VR game at the TGS. It’s an old classic but still… Kinda interesting that this announcement actually happened.

A mech survival action shooter? As of now I’m all in on Left Alive unless ya kno… it turns out not to be any good. Also that art work is pretty good but we all kno that goes without saying. “Pretty darn good”
Is the older man holding a Cold War classic, the MP5 or is it just an SMG-sized AR? He’s my favorite part in the art, it gives me a Big Boss vibe. The woman seems like a military officer, if only because of her hat. I can’t figure out the insignias, might be made up. I imagine the protagonist is the young male on the left.
Looks like an AK type receiver.
