Kojima shows various Metal Gear goodies
On Twitter, Kojima has been sharing some pictures of various Metal Gear goodies, including soundtrack cds, figurines and clothing.
He has received samples of the two soundtrack cds that will be released for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.

They said the game is huge in terms of details and side missions are great too.
Gameplay and music is perfect. He explains the balance on the game is perfectly design. He also Praise the Fox engine like truelly miracle ( that catch my eyes)
The only cons he mentioned are the story which get me worries. but my hope is maybe the review build doesn’t include a “Secret ending ” or maybe they didn’t find it

The story can feel different because of open world style and we have to put the story together slowly, as Kojima said. With linear you constantly run to some cutscene. But I’m sure it will be mind blowing story :). Can’t wait!

Hey guys, been on here for a long time now, but only just decided to join in in the comments. First of all, this community is amazing and I love reading all your comments and see the love for Metal Gear, which I can’t find anywhere else. Secondly, does anybody know where to pre-order the OST? I want it! Thirdly, I am extremely excited for MGS V and very lucky to be able to get the Limited Edition PS4 in its design. I’m sure the game won’t disappoint. Kojima never does anyway, so that is reason enough to be excited for it. Also, I work at GameStop in Switzerland and I have to say that the Metal Gear support here is low to non-existent and it makes me sad to constantly see these people asking about Call of Duty, Battlefield and Assassin’s Creed and all those annual mediocre titles. I’d like for them to appreciate better games. But I guess this way it remains very special to me 🙂 Love you all and have a great day.

I have never been able to find a store around here that had a MGS midnight event.
But all of them have midnight launches for Call of Doody, Battlefart, Assassins Crap, etc.
Don’t get me wrong, I love COD World at War, Black Ops, and AC Black Flag.
I just hate these cookie cutter futuristic fps games and most AC games all look the same and have crappy controls.

here in argentina in retail it cost 120 dollars one game ; A; , i think in venezuela is around 10-30 dollars , but consider that 1dollar = 150-240 bolivares, they pay for one game between 3000-7600 bolivares which is alot , the average worker wins between 2800-3900 bolivares. so to buy one game you have to lose all you money for one or two month.

me neither, i mean at least in argentina is not that bad the average worker wins 500-800 dollars so you can afford to buy 1-2 game each month , but in venezuela is basically save your money for a months to get one game and my friend say the food there is really expensive. 1kg of meat is 1500 bolivares ,which basically you can afford to eat 1 or 2 kg of meat for month ,which is nothing if you consider the average family have 3-5 members .
For someone who is paid in Dollars is pretty cheap, like 23 $ but for me is pretty expensive since i get paid in “bolivares” my salary per month is way less than the cost of the game and i am a fucking lawyer… so it’s kinda complicated, in our country we have a currency control, that means that we can’t freely change our currency (bolivares) into dollars, so in case that we wanted to adquire dollars (that we need because in our country everything is produced in another countries and imported here later) each dollar means 700 “bolivares” wich is insanely expensive. Long story short, before the currency control were fully implemented, i managed to save some dollars exclusively for TPP, but now i’m strugglin’ with the shipping cost
Really looking forward to Kojimas last video, gonna bring a tear to my eye, been playing metal gear since ps1, there is no game like it, gonna play this on ps4 first, then Xbox1, then PC, looking forward to hearing more from crimson fox and yong yea!

I don’t even know if it’s getting any form of stateside or western release(?). I’ve searched around every so often for soundtrack release details the past couple of weeks, and have only seen the Japanese Amazon sales pages or the news announcements that link to them.
I wonder this OST and the Vocal album are the only ones, or if there will be a non-original song compilation as well. Not that I need a third soundtrack; just want to know what to look out for.
Also, I read on one Metal Gear fan site a couple weeks ago (and I don’t want to go searching on other MG fan sites anymore so close to release), that the songwriter(?) had so many original tracks turned down by Kojima, and he/she wants to see about releasing an album of them at some point. But that’s probably a ways off and hypothetical at this time. But I want.
That was Rika Muranaka in a recent interview. It would be interesting to hear that stuff but I think there’s next to no chance that it’s going to be released. I’m assuming she has no rights to any material developed for a Konami product. Konami would have to gives the thumbs up–which…just doesn’t seem like it would happen.

My biggest advice would be to stay away from them because ‘confirmed’ basically means someone thinks its probably true and I’ve wasted way too much time reading through junk. I’ve read through all the spoiler information thus far that I can find and it is all still murky and questionable as hell. It also hasn’t made me any less excited about playing this game! Yeah, that’s kinda how I feel sadly. I’ve been saying for a few days that I’ll go dark but this is seriously it for me. No more /r/metalgearsolid or anything for me. Also staying away from non-trusted Twitter sources and such. I hesitated when typing this in case people felt this way but I think it’s important to let people realize how serious the stuff we’re dealing with it. I would strongly advise going dark. All I might do is look at review scores and maybe Greg Miller’s playthrough but likely not.

Yes. I cant link you because its with a shit ton of spoilers, but it exists and its coming. Disk 2 contains we are not your people, nuclear, and other promotional music and GZ music, the only thing i remember off disk one is a spoiler. I know its coming west because i only speak english and the track listings were all in english.
According to this on instagram Konami are sending reviewers special copies(probably boot camp version) of TPP for their review. Which is really weird if so and makes me really hyped for whatever Kojima is so adamant on hiding (the ending early critics are complaining aboutl) from everyone until the game is released, potentially damaging the critical acclaim of his own magnum opus to prevent spoilers for us fans (assuming this is the boot camp version).

Yeah probably, but it does seems weird to use a memory stick and not send physical copies that are already been made and distributed, which is why I think the stick contains the boot camp version of the game. I wouldn’t put it past Konami, they did set up a review boot camp for journalists…

Well I only watch some of his WTF is series and it seems he does them after the game has been released – and on a separate note, I doubt Konami will give early review copies to the little (independent) guys who are not a part of large news corporations, instead they get invited to the review event, and must buy the game on release to experience the full game.
I think there will be a special easter egg mission after the ending. Kind of like Peace Walker

P.S. Guys, I strongly recommend not to go to reddit or 4chan. From this day, leaks will go nuts all over the internet. Do yourself a favor and don’t look for spoilers. You should experience the game for yourself. It’s going to be good despite some critism or spoilers. Don’t ruin your fun, you waited too long for this game to come out. Don’t ruin everything just in one day. You will be satisfied for 5 seconds and after that you will regret it.

we have waited a long time, years in fact for what became the latest entry by Kojima on the MGS series.
i remember when the trailer for the phantom pain came out on 2012 “developed by Moby Dick
Studio” an i thought it was a cool an original IP when i red about it ( i wasn’t able to watch Spike VGA Live that time) but when i had my first glance at the trailer it all looked so suspicious and familiar, the engine looked too close to Fox engine and man, that guy looked a lot like Big boss!! i remember i even gave a phone call to a friend just to ask him if had saw the trailer for TPP, he said he didn’t because it was a new IP and it didn’t sound that interesting, i said “hey, go and watch that right now that shit is totally Metal Gear!”
three years from that and now we are 10 days away to experience The Phantom Pain, i’m off. i’ve waited so long and i care so much about this whole saga that it would really hurt to get spoiled now, so, we’ll see each other soon and share our experiences, opinions and adventures. but i just wanted all of you to notice how important this wait was, we are going to say welcome to the game and at the same time farewell to the wait.
this hype and all the time we shared won’t be back, and we won’t be together waiting for MGSV again (maybe for other Kojima games but that will be another story) so i just wanted to say thanks to nyxus and the community that was born here, as much as we might have suffered to wait these years part of it was also jokes, opinions and off course theories! analysing every little bit of any screenshot and every trailer, even tweets! it was a fun time, it was great to read and meet people from all over the world sharing the same passion for the MGS solid saga, and i’m really looking forward to read about our experiences and opinions about the game, see you soon comrades, here on the Informer, our little Outer Heaven.

Moral choices in the game will impact strongly in the world . The journalist think is the greatest stealth action game ever created . Gameplay is what make this metal gear a truely Masterpiece . What everyone is worry is about he had the same trouble thant the french reviewer regarding the final ending . He still thinks the game does not made a conlusion in the franchise and doesn’t live up to other Mgs games plot . Then again he praise other particulary scenes and Epic moments that will make a strong discussion with fans. I’m still 90% confident no one of this guys has unlocked the ” secret ending “. we don’t know it this exist or not But it could be the reason why Mgsv do not resolve his questions . Overall the game is masterpiece and Ocelot Win again his iconic character =)
i am really looking forward to a scene where Venom is having trouble and ocelot saves the day and we can see literally people being afraid of the mighty shalasaska…

2) Kaz holds his phantom pain dearly he would never replace his lost limbs as to him that would be like simply replacing his lost comrades. His lost limps hold very important meaning to him.

It’s blackout time for me as well now.. I’ve been holding it of for some days, but i’m afraid to get slammed with spoilers, if i keep postponing it.
I feel that MGI is 99% safe like some of you are saying, but.. I also feel that one of these days, some asshole is gonna post something that can’t be unread, and i’m gonna read it just before its deleted by admins.
And not to sound like a broken and duplicated record 😉 ..but. I have to say, that following MGI for these past few years and with that the increasing hype, the theories, the news and your hilarious comments, has been utterly awesome and addictive. I only recently started actively taking part in this community, and I don’t know why I stayed in the digital shadows for so long, but I have never regretted finally joining in.

I had a theory while at work tonight I know it sounds preposterous but please hear me out. In a recent Yong video (countdown retrospective) he spoke about a tweet Kojima-san posted in late april(may?) 2013 talking about having completed most of the full body mo-cap but still needing to do alot more work including facial capture. The thought occured, what if the masked man’s true identity will be visible from the get go and that the only reason he has remained bandaged up til now was to not spoil part of the story. I was thinking something might be up with the bandages because of how Kojima-san used the disquise as a ruse to camouflage the existence of TPP way back when. I was wondering if maybe there’s some connection between the two based on the bandage ruse.
Crazy theory aside I do honestly believe the bandaged gentleman to be Frank Jaeger aka Grey Fox and that this customizable character all these journalists speak of is in fact you customizing the face of Grey Fox. None of that head transplant shenanigans, just good ol’ Grey Fox looking out for his buddy and mentor Big Boss.

Starting Monday, the amount of spoilers for TPP may be rampant over the following week up until the release of the game.
Having been burnt multiple times before playing single-player story games, I have written some tips that will help you avoid getting this final Metal Gear Solid experience ruined.
1. Disable your gaming related RSS feeds (i.e. Engadget, Gamespot, N4G…etc.)
2. Disable automatic Twitter notifications (if you follow and have instant notifications from Gaming Media personalities and websites)
3. Avoid visiting Click-Bait websites such as “IGN” (they tend to spoil in the article headline)
4. Avoid comment sections on all websites especially YouTube (people enjoy spoiling
in on non-related articles/videos)
5. For PC Gamers – avoid the official MG TPP forums on Steam (a lot of childish behavior occurs over there)
And finally, although it is pretty safe on MGI take precautions to ensure Mother Base is secured.
Its not this post that bothers me, its that this has to be the 8th time ive seen a comment almost exactly like this.

As far as I’ve understood, Midnight 01.09.15 New Zealand time is the global unlock for Steam, and that translates to 14.00 on 31.08.15 Norwegian time, 13.00 UK time, so it will be sort of a staggered release in terms of the local time 🙂

I used to follow ign pretty closely a few years ago and I never saw him as the huge mgs fan he said he was. He does like the games, especially peace walker but he has called the metal gear story as a whole a train wreck multiple times so I’m not sure how someone who sees the story as a train wreck can be as big a fan as he says. He’s definitely a fan but maybe he’s just not as invested as people like us. Just always really bugged me that he would talk about how much he loves the series and then call the story a train wreck.

You will never heart about it . Search some things about how laws in companies works on japan. They uses secret contracts for this kinds of things. People are not allow to say the truth of the matter. The real truth is under the table and there are too much things going on . Once kojima leaves his contract is up, unless they offer him an payoff to go quietly with money and sign an nda , kojima can say what he wants, konami can dispute it of course but kojima was a director at konami, so he’ll know how it works, but kojima is not one for putting the boot in, he’ll say different vision , wanting to do new things in a new environment, P.R talk, but in The months and years after TPP, we’ll get bits of information, and we’ll get a better idea who was at fault, plus it will take another 3-4 years before we see a metal gear game again , so I’ll wait and see.
The fox engine is not unreal engine development tool where anyone can jump in to the train and made games. You need the people of k.p who has been working on in the build by 6 years to make it work at it max capabilities . Is not magic . They will milk the fox engine with other developers from years to come with all the effort of this people

Yeah 🙁 Kojimas last MGS, there is NO doubt we will have MANY more, but they will all be crap from Konami, no longer will we get a Hideo Kojima MGS. Any more MGS games will serve no greater purpose than to be timeline filler, no future MGS will seek to give the players anything more than simple entertainment.

I didn’t like the fact that the whole reason for Raiden’s very existence was to give us, the players, a chance to view Snake out-of-the-box you know and that Revengence’s whole existence was just for him. That and the fact that NONE of the Snakes, hell not even Ocelot was in it.
Overall I just didn’t like the fact it wasn’t a MG game, sorry enough said.

Is MGI going to cover any news related to any future Hideo Kojima games, or just MGS games? We have seen a few articles related to Silent Hill and Hideo Kojima which don’t relate to MGS, and I was wondering if it was something that was going to become normal now that Hideo Kojima and MGS have parted ways.

So has konami or whatever Kojima Productions is called now given assurance that MGO will be supported? Id hate to see a couple patches early and have the online experience be riddled with hackers/glitchers/bugs 6 months to a year on.
Has konami give a statement on wether they will support MGO even after the reorganization of the company? Im very worried 6 months into the games life cycle the online will be riddled with problems if it doesnt have a dedicated team

I just started my last mgs3 play through yesterday, it is the first time I have ever tried European extreme, I always played on extreme but never liked the idea of the game ending once you get caught, I’m liking it so far though it really makes you think about everything you do. I wanted to play through portable ops and peace walker one last time as well but it’s looking like I might have to skip portable ops if I don’t finish mgs3 in time,

It was 1998. I was 13. i bought my playstation that year.
I went to the store that by chance i came to work for 3 years 17 years later when i was still studing at my university. The salesman at the times said to me “hey you can buy one game and choose one for free”
i bought fifa 98 and i saw a weird case with 3 words on it. Metal Gear Solid” i flipped the case and i saw images of an agent in a base.. i said.. well this one.
The next day i came to realize that that game was something incredible. The voice acting the cinematic feel the cinematic direction the music and the tension was amazing. The characters really stood out for me. i was blown away. Instantly it changed the way i was thinking about video games as a medium, Needless to say that it became my favorite game of all time. it was even better than every movie i ve ssen at the time. Sometimes i caught my self making an impression of david Hayter’s Snake in words like “ok” or when i was mad at something u know the classic “ghuuuah” you know…
i completed Mgs1 maybe 60 times in every possible way. and the “best is yes to come” Chills…
2 years later
I was expecting a sequel. i was even making up my own stories about mgs2 before its announcement.
then i saw MgsE3 trailer.. Well for those who remember that trailer was the coolest thing ever that year. The graphics were amazing (mgs2 still holds up to this day) the momevement of snake the shadows everything looked so cool and so next gen.i waited two long years to play Mgs2. i even bought a Ps2 for that reason. Mgs2 was the one of the three games i ever bought for ps2. Mgs3 was the third ; )
My reaction when i first saw Raiden..was wtf? who is this ? aww cmon.. i hated mgs2 for at least six months. i sold to a friend of mine and with the money i bought Metallicas St anger(yes yes i know.. epic fail)
But i regreted it soon and i bought Mgs2 again. I Dived into the story this time a liitle more deeply. I analyzed every aspect of the game and i came to realize that mgs2 was a masterpiece in its own right.. maybe not what i expected for a sequel but a great title non the less.
In 2003 i finished hight school and i moved in the second biggest city of greece to study (im a teacher)
so i was unable at the time to follow news etc about a possible threequel/ in 2004 i was walking on the street and i saw a PSM magazine and in its cover Snake!! i bought it..Mgs3 snake eater ! wow cool “i said”
I bought snake eater. My favorite game of all time. need i say more? Big Boss.. the boss.. the setting the music the characters and that ending… man.. you cant dislike Mgs3 for any reason..i replayed mgs3 100 times in every difficulty and another maybe 50 times in Hd collection ; )
4 years gone by.i broke up with my long time girfriend at that time after 5 years i was having fun with my friends and enjoyed my time during my studies.as for metal gearI was eager to find out the story behind the patriots.. who are they what is going on in solid snakes timeline?
mgs4 came.Again i bought a console just to play mgs4(later i bought many ps3 titles).That last week prior to its realese i ve set a count down in my phone and i replayed every game 1-3 twice.. i was so excited…Day one mgs4 edition for me. i completed it in a day. i skipped all classes and i went out only to pay utilities. i took a break only to eat and sleep for two hours..Mgs4 was good.. it had great moments like the return on shadow moses..and big boss’ return during the ending..but to this day is my leats favorite metal gear.. idk why..but make no mistake.. i love it.
I was so sad that peace walker was on psp.. i had no desire to buy a psp so i skipped peace walker at the time even though i wanted to play it badly.. i remember i followed the teasing at that site daily.. you know the site that revealed rising and peace walker together ; ) yeah that one.
2011.. another relationship of mine ended this time in bad terms. it was a turning point at my life in 2011-2012.. my studies were at an end and i had to leave my home the city i was living the past 7.5 years and join the army for a year..spring 2012 finally i graduated and i returned briefly in my hometown before joining the army in november 2012. after hard military training for 30 days i returned home to rest for a week..when i saw trailers for GZ and the phantom pain .needless to say that once again metal gear in me awoken all those feelings and passion for my beloved game. my time in millitary was one of the best moments of my life. imagine being in a fort on a mountain isolated but not competly. i was awarded a title during my service which was a proud moment for me. i became a corporal! deep down i knew that to command a group of guys i had to respect em and try to be politely stict..if that makes any sense. my service ended… i was checking every day for news trailers etc for the phantom pain.. my millitary service ended.. i moved in a new place this time in my hometown with my Fiancee that i met during my service i found a part time job at that time (now i teach as i was supposed to do 😉 ) but still despite all the changes in my life i feel one more time into kojimas trap.. i was desperate for Gz and TPP.. im not a gamer.. the only franchise that i follow with dedication is Mgs.
2014. Gz.. for me it was a great experience but…yeah..too short.. it made me hungry for the phantom pain.. Sins of the father… im still listening to it daily maybe 3-4 times/day.
And we came to this day/ 9 days before release.. i dont know what to say exactly.. for me those 3 years waiting TPP symbolize so many changes in my life..but deep down it makes look back and realize that what we have done in the past makes us who we are today.. we have the power to atone for our sins to make our selves a better person each and every day. i know its just a game.. but waiting for the phantom pain it shows me today that im the same person with that kid that bought mgs in 1998 but different in so many ways. that is the most important thing Kojima did for me.. not the the game it self..not the graphics or the gameplay.. but all the feelings you express through something you love for so many years..

Holy crap you are hardcore. I am not much of a gamer either. I actually bought ps4 just for mgs. Only game I have is ground zeroes and I preordered phantom pain. I remember several games back when they came out on both ps2 and PS3 and the old gen wasn’t just short on graphics but also big content difference. Didn’t want to take that chance with phantom pain. Now you guys are saying the difference is pretty much just graphics. Hopefully I didn’t make a mistake LOL

As far as we know right now, there are no DLC’s planned. This might change however so please keep that in mind. And although micro-transactions are a thing (ugh….) everything, EVERYTHING, can be acquired without spending a single extra cent.
Micro-transactions are only there to help speed up certain processes wich might for instance help you acquire that sweet sniper rifle you’re craving a bit faster. But again, it’s not required, you can get that sniper rifle in due time without spending a single extra penny. 🙂
According to the Twitter Q&A all the weapons and gadjets are developed In game time but the motherbase platforms are in real time, so the microtransactions should be for MB mainly i guess

I would imagine that if there were to be any DLC it would revolve around MGO3 (Maps,Weapons) or cosmetic DLC for snake.
Any story DLC would need to be written by Kojima and well….That wont be happening :(.

Just to build a little more hype share your favorite trailer and why you love it! I love the atmosphere of this one, the ambiguity and tension are typical of MGS. (And of all my favorite movies, TV shows, books and music.) Even when you 100% a MGS game there’s still a chance that you missed something and that there is some sort of deep symbolism going on. That makes them eternally replayable.
I loved all of them but I really liked the 2015 Elegia E3 trailer! 😀

Yeah, that was a great trailer, but you’re right they’re all great. I think the trailers that Kojima has released since this original one all contain misdirection to a certain extent. I think that what we’ve seen is a small segment of the story. I mean what the hell IS going on in that trailer I just posted and why has it never been mentioned since? (Unless there’s a trailer I missed?) I wonder what happens when Big Boss escapes and how he gets strong again? Do we play that or will it just cut to him… or actually… knowing Kojima we’ll get a cheesy training montage! THE HYYYYYYPE!!!

Its been happening for a long time, mass effect 2 clone sheppard was spoiled on the front page of IGN. I personally love the spoilers, but I think they should stay in the spoiler threads where they belong.

Just yesterday, some jerkass spoiled the ending for the third storyline of Fire Emblem Fates for me. It’s out of hand.

The funny thing is that it was SUCH a small part of Metal Gear Solid 3 that it was probably missed by most people who played it.
And yet it’s one of the biggest connections between bb and ocelot.
Which is where Ocelot’s love for Big Boss come from.
I think you have it backwards, big boss probably has a lot of mixed emotions, including love, towards ocelot, while ocelot respects big boss, he doesn’t know who his mother was. The boss trained big boss, making her more of a mother figure to big boss than her own flesh and blood, taken at birth by the patriots.
Yeah, in some form we will see her, I guess you could call her the “Phantom” of the MGS series.
