Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes coming to Steam December 18th
It seems like the Steam version of Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes has a release date. Russian gaming websites are reporting the game will come to the platform on December 18th. The Steam version was announced at Gamescom in August, and today during Russian gaming event Igromir the release date was confirmed.
Update: Keep in mind that at this point the release date has now yet been confirmed by Konami.
Update 2: Konami has confirmed the release date, and announced the game will support 4K resolution. It will also feature ‘an increase in the number of simultaneous light sources, the number of models that can be displayed on-screen, and increased shadow resolution’.
On a side note, December 15th a patch for the console versions will be released fixing Russian translations, among other things.
Update: Konami has also provided some more details on the patch. The translations will be improved, and Kojima Productions has ‘worked with local agencies to re-translate and fine-tune Russian subtitles and menu elements for use in the game’.

release date of tpp, I need thissss
on topic, I wonder what the price will be
I’d wager $20.
I was guessing around 15-20 also, 30 for consoles but PC is always cheaper.
Unfortunately for me, I have the PS3 version (which is not all that bad, I guess) and my laptop is more powerful, so I can probably get a closer and better experience to the PS4 version with it this time around. :¤
It shouldn’t be more then 15$
Great news! Because Russian translation was terrible. Hope they fix all localization issues.
This means TPP might come sooner than you might think.
Yeah I think so too :D!
Then one of these days Kojima drops the Nuclear bomb-news for us.
You mean the nuuuuuuuucleeeaaarrrrrr bomb?
Yeah!
it doesn’t mean anything. no offense to you in personal, but why can’t people just wait. kojima stated 2015. and he will keep his promise. and you all know something great is coming. patience is a virtue. so don’t play games with your minds. just hold on to the virtue.
I agree. Everywhere I go, people are either bashing Kojima into the ground, or grasping at non-existing strings for a release date.
Because waiting sucks.
Waiting sucks, but at the same time is good thing so we get the best game in whole universe.
You’re right, I mean, it’s necessary but it sucks (not only for the gamer).
This is probably why Kojima believes in episodic gaming, and tried it with GZ (and I suspect, will try again on a larger scale with Silent Hills).
The industry of gaming is already into that. For example, The Walking Dead, The Wolf Among Us, and the recently announced Resident Evil Revelations 2.
Waiting=Super Torture.
I’m good at surviving tortures, can take a lot of pain…but my limit is starting to approach.
I hope to survive long enough so I can play TPP …
Don’t forget to tap Triangle and Start during Torture.
I’m tapping it even at this moment xD !
True, it’s not coming until 2015 so it won’t release for a while. It doesn’t really matter yet exactly when it’s coming. They will announce it when the time is right. And isn’t it a good sign that they are taking their time for this game, instead of rushing it into the stores? Now we have to be patient, but if it results in a better game in the end, isn’t that worth the wait? As Miyamoto once said: “A delayed game is eventually good; a bad game is bad forever.”
And as I once said: “Patches can make bad games good, though no one wants a bad game on release”.
Miyamoto said that during an era where games couldn’t be patched, hotfixed, or expansions provided for. AKA the SNES era where once the catridge was out, it was all or nothing.
I hate that outdated quote. Lol.
Or they just work on the game until it’s done instead of just putting it in the store and patching if afterwards. Also, isn’t that just for minor bug fixes and things like that? If Kojima Productions needs some extra months, you can be sure they are still doing work that can’t be simply added with a patch.
I’m happy with waiting. Rather it be 5 years in production, than a 1 year production mess like Call of Doody. 😛
“A delayed game can be awful and terrible; as with Duke Nukem: Forever.” -FTFY
The point is that the game shouldn’t be rushed because people are too impatient to wait a few extra months.
Yay. I’m really hoping that TPP launches for PC at the same time as the consoles, but I won’t count on that to save from a crushing disappointment. I’m excited to see how GZ runs on my pc, hopefully I can cram out 60fps on medium or some shit.
IF they’re releasing GZ this soon on PC its likely all versions of TPP will release simultaneously.
As a PC Gamer that has just a PC and broken PS2, i hope it comes at least 2 months Later, so that the Game will be well Optimized, i don’t want a broken port, i would rather wait 2 or even 3 more months.
Cant wait.
Start to play all Silent Hill’s also.
I need to replay them all again too :D, well mostly 1-4.
Does anybody know, if I have digital GZ for ps3, and I’ll get TPP on PC, will I be able to use the GZ extras?
Probably not.
You can do that cross-console (e.g ps3 to xbone, ps4 to xb360) I don’t know about PC though but hopefully.
Since Ground Zeroes is releasing before TPP, and that if you finish GZ you’ll get something in Phantom Pain, i’m pretty sure this applies to PC as well.
FIRST FOX ENGINE IN PC
KREYGRASM
Wrong, PES 14 is the first Fox Engine Game on PC.
Yes finally THANK YOU GOD! Awesome news makes me so happyyyy <(^O^<) ! Now just need TPP :D.
I hope MGSV runs well on my PC 🙂 !
Considering that is coming in December, 2 and a Half More Months, hopefully this means Extra Time in the Optimization Part, hope the Delay is not just Because.
Just another platform for me to get the game on.
Does the release date seem kind of odd to anyone? It’s a multiplatform engine game that was released back in March. Although the announcement for PC was in late August, shouldn’t the game’s release on PC be sooner? Maybe the staff for the PC version is smaller? I dunno, it seems like it could be out later this month but instead we have to wait 2 and a half months more. Hopefully this kind of wait doesn’t port over to TPP on PC.
Hopefully this means that the PC Version will be well Optimized, unlike Recent Ports like Watch Dogs and Dead Rising 3.
You bet your sweet tush I’m buying this junk again.
maybe a new reveal might come on late december on VGa, or VGx or if the thing actually happens since last year’s disaster (remember TPP was revealed there)
also if anyone has a “nextgen version how different are loading times?
before last year
Igromir, son of Gligromir.
It’s stand for GameWorld, you are Rushian, Shalashaska, got damn it.
Don’t let facts get in the way of a good story.
That’s great!
Damn I want to know what is the new location in TPP, that they show in Igromir :O ! Could it be Russia hmm >.:O !
I really hope it’s somewhere inside a building. I’m dyiiing to see that.
That would be superb, like some huge base etc.
So is the info from the Russian event private, or has nothing Metal Gear been revealed yet?
Yes, this is from the event. Apparently there were some messages from Kojima and Sutherland, and Konami also released some new screens two days ago.
Those weren’t really new though. I meant in terms of gameplay and stuff. Do you know if we can expect anything actually new in the coming days? Is there a schedule for the Kojima based event there?
I don’t know more than what’s on Konami’s press release. But you probably shouldn’t really expect too much new stuff.
Shucks, I’m getting antsy.
One of the members (nickname Мемфис) of Russian MGS-forum (metalgear.me) was on the Igromir 2014 MGSV: TPP presentation. He told about steam-version release date and console-patch anouncements. He also admit that Hideo Kojima welcomed fans in good russian in his video message. Second video message was from Kiefer Sutherland (In it he speaks about honor to bring something new into Snake character, and his believing that all of us will appreciate his job and love new Snake). Gameplay demo was the same as TGS 2014 (but in english), nor any new location was shown. Every viewer get XOF-patch and 20%-discount flyer on thematical T-shirts.
That’s all 🙁 Sorry for bad english.
Thanks a lot for the recap!
Thanks and it was good english 🙂 !
Now dear Kojima Prod, you need to make sure to get those things right:
Controls:
-No Mouse Acceleration Please, is 2014, it shouldn’t be that hard (I’m looking at you both. Dead Rising 3 and Watch Dogs)
-Shortcuts for Weapons and Items like tap 1 twice for Tranq Gun, and tap 4 twice to select C4, a button for On/Off Flashlight, and another button for On/Off Silencers)
-No Auto-run with a Walking button, instead Classic WASD for Walking, WASD+LShift for Running, and WASD+Caps Lock/LAlt for Dash
-The Player and Driving Controls to be different (able to Chose WASD Player and Up/Down/Left/Right for Driving)
-Fully Customizable Controls
-Making use of the Scroll (Zoom In/Zoom Out, Change Weapons Quick etc)
-Fully Working Mouse in Menus and Sub-menus
Optimization/Graphics:
-No Poppins
-Make use of Nvidia PhysX (Improved Particles Effects, Lighting, Ambient Occlusion etc.)
-No Auto-Apply Graphics (I’m looking at You, MGR)
-No Framerate Lock
-Texture Pack at Launch for those with High End PCs
-Steam Workshop
And Last, but not least, it shouldn’t cost more then 15$
while all this makes sense, but can you explain to me. what are the disadvantages of framerate lock option?! i really don’t know that.
That is actually my mistake from my comment, gonna edit it.
O.K. Konami, now give us an Updated Version of this Trailer…
http://youtu.be/60FqLOMOPgU
…or much better a Ground Zeroes Nvidia Tech Trailer, like this one, but with Sean Narrating it.
http://youtu.be/s46_MWDUEnY
Can’t wait to see how this holds up on my useless laptop, hah.
Did a black and white painting of Quiet by the way!
Daaaamn that’s nice artwork :D! Teach me how to do that so well sensei ;O …
Thanks man! Do you draw at all lol?
Actually I used to draw a lot many years ago, but then I stopped it for some reason 🙁 … I need to start doing it again so can become as good as Shinkawa someday…or you ;D !
Ah everybody stops I don’t know why. I don’t think there’s a day in my life I’ve never drawn something, like at least just a doodle. That’s actually the secret to drawing well!
nice job. You have skill
Arigato!
Hoping for a secret Santa mission :3
Is the patch for the consoles all about the Russian translation, or it has new features?
Seems to be all about translation from the looks of the press release.
4k?
Hm… I wasn’t planning on jumping on 4k so soon… but Metal Gear…
Looks like we may finally get this Version.
PS: Now i just realized that this PAX 2012 Demo had the 80’s Movie Filter applied, you can see from time to time some black point, like they are from an old Movie Film.
http://youtu.be/acq2RRTQrs0
Dude ,this again 😛
What, i just said that this version has the Color Filter, what i did wrong?
you do know that PAX version is way inferior in all compared to the final version….. : /
Actually is not, you san see that the Weather and Lighting was much better at PAX 2012!
Am I the only one that thinks the animations are smoother here than the final version?
The animations were slower…crawling, running, climbing etc ….making them look smoother and better then the final version…
Exactly. It’s so unfortunate they changed it.
No you’re not.
Also here is the comparison https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YqbNk5-gzXU
The PAX Demo looks better, it looks just like a PC Game.
So the PC version will look inferior to Ps4/XboxOne? okkkkkk………….. ; /
Dude, the only things that are better in the Final version, are the Resolution and Polishing, other then that is pretty clear that the PAX 2012 Demo had much better Lighting, better Shadow Textures, better Weather Effects, Natural looking Textures, Denser and more detailed Fog and a Brown 80’s Film Filter.
Yes, i do prefer they way Ground Zeroes is looking with the Brown Filter, instead of the Blue one.
So me,Kojima and a LOT of people are seeing things? dude its allready
been confirmed that the PAX footage is nothing more then the
Ps3/Xbox360 gameplay(played on a PC with those consoles graphic settings)….Kojima said it himself that they were planning on the 80s
filter but in the end they decided not to do it (meaning they didn’t
show it) as for natural looking textures, detailed fog ….you do
realize that this low quality footage as well and saying things like it
has better textures makes me think that your either over-looping this
footage or having a bad eyesight ……. i mean just look at these two
pictures (the one above is like the PAX footage while the one below is
from Ps4/XboxOne) ….. please do your reasearch before saying stuff
like that especially when Kojima said many things that contradict your
statement…also requesting things like better No Poppins,Make use of Nvidia PhysX (Improved Particles Effects, Lighting, Ambient Occlusion etc.) ,No Auto-Apply Graphics (I’m looking at You, MGR),No Framerate Lock,Texture Pack at Launch for those with High End PCs,Steam Workshop is like saying a BIG FU to the Ps4 and XboxOne users……that is if those consoles have also room to spare then why not add those things to those version aswell…..MGSV got the PC release and 4k support wich is a great deal but requesting things like this is rly disrespectful towards the console players ….
Is the PS3 Graphics, but it has the PC Post Processing, like better weather and an increased number of Lighting Sources, which are missing from the PS4 version, that’s my point, is not better, the Graphics are better in the PS4 Version, but the PAX 2012 Demo had better Post Processing Settings, aka PC Settings.
Conclusion: The PC Version will have a bit better Graphics then the PS4 version, but with the PAX 2012 Post Processing Settings added, which would make a Huge difference in terms of Visual Fidelity.
facepalms* ….nothing to talk about here when someone is so strong up/made up his mind about something…..im sticking with facts and what Kojima said ….
I’m didn’t made up my mind about anything, i wasn’t talking about the Graphical Fidelity in the first Place, i was just saying that the PAX Demo looks better compared to the PS4 version, not that it has better Graphics, because it obviously didn’t
My point was that the PC Version will look Gorgeous, and that’s the “worst” case in which the PC Version will get the PS4 Graphical Fidelity (Textures and Models) and the PAX 2012 Resolution, which is not the case as Konami Confirmed that the PC Version will have better Textures and 4K Support along more feature to be revealed.
O.K. Konami, looks like you got the Graphics/Performance Right, now make sure to get the Controls as well, more exactly make sure to get rid of the Mouse Acceleration from MGR, it was annoying, so please, take the Controls right.
PS: You guys don’t know how happy i am that the PC Versions of MGSV are not a Hybrid between Last-Gen and Current-Gen…i’m looking at YOU, PES15 Development Team, Shame on YOU for not treating PC and Fox Engine right.
Take notes Kojima Production!

You know what else I think the patch will add? Custom music support for Next Gen consoles. The MP3 support must arrive by then, right?
It has to arrive…or I will go insane D:< !
When will we get the system requirements?
Soon, hopefully this November.
Is it just me, or the TGS 2012 Demo (Left) had exactly what Konami announced that the PC version will have this December, an Increased number of simultaneous lighting sources compared to the PS4 Version?
Update will have things besides Russian translation?
My curiosity is piqued.
