Metal Gear Solid V second demo from TGS
During the Tokyo Game Show, Kojima Productions showed off a second gameplay demo of Metal Gear Solid V, running on the PlayStation 4. Again, it takes place during the Ground Zeroes part (Camp Omega), but in the late afternoon. You can watch the video below, or follow this link.
And for the same demo on Xbox One, go here or watch below.

I liked everything about this demo. It was better than previous demo. No glitches or animation problem. CQC is so awesome. you beat the shit out of the enemy and you trigger combo where you can just take his weapon and kill stuff.
the fact that helicopter is destroyed in their base is awesome too.
Still, I’m That guy that hates “Mark” feature with X-Ray. That is a cheat. sorry. But it’s a cheat and I don’t understand the reason behind it. Big Boss does not wear any special items for X-Ray/Mark. Sure he has it’s own idroid but… Come on.
I liked the part where Big Boss blew the tank off the cliff.
I think That part is everyone’s favourite. C4 in it’s full glory.
Perfect timing!!
You know, I was a bit skeptical about the X-ray feature. Maybe there is a setting to switch it off. But judging on how many sentries were in that base I think it would have been impossible not to get detected otherwise!
Finally a gameplay demo that shows off some mechanics! And damn this is impressive! The thing that struck out to me most was the CQC combat; the moment when snake takes out the guard in the tower after being spotted. YES. Everything else looks amazing too.
Anything bad I said about the game, after seeing the second demo, I take it back. This. Looks. Awesome.
Here’s the Xbox One demo, thought it’s essentially the same as the PS4 demo: http://www.gengame.net/2013/09/tokyo-game-show-metal-gear-solid-v-daytime-footage/
I added it to the post. Yeah, it looks like they just did the same stuff, so there are only very minor differences.
I am slightly confused though, weren’t we supposed to see the english version of this demo or something? Im pretty sure i remember Kojima tweeting about this… i think so anyway.
No, we are getting an English version of the announcement trailer, but he didn’t say when. Could be after TGS.
It’s just here or the quality of both videos is awful (even in 720p) ?
Yeah, it’s just the recording I guess.
in gamespot the audio is buggy and the recording is offscreen, but it doesn’t have all those compression artifacts
I’m surprised and disappointed we didn’t get any release date info. I feel that it will be mistake to delay the release of this game much longer. My reason being is that I believe will feel very dated in a year’s time.
What I’ve seen looks fun and I look forward to the boss fights, but truthfully, the new gameplay mechanics are all things I’ve seen before in games such as Assassin’s Creed and Uncharted. I haven’t played the recent Splinter Cell games, but I hear there’s a lot of overlap there as well.
Whereas MGS and especially MGS2 were truly innovative games, MGSV is more a borrowing from other games to renew the series.
amazing stuff 😀
i don’t like how you were spotted by the enemy and you can stop time and instantly aim for him.
it’s like you were discovered at the back, but you can still avoid the alert by instantly being able to take him out.
they improved the CQC combat by adding some fighting game mechanics on it 😛
they really took some cues from Splinter Cell(take down enemies while in cover) Hitman(even the same button as to picking up a weapon; holding)
though for some reason i’m not impressed that yet, i want to see actual open world stuff and Snake traversing from different locations in the same map.
guess i need a demo for sure!
Yeah, it’s probably because this is a small map. The Phantom Pain is supposed to have much larger locales.
I haven’t seen any ADS, I sure hope it’s in here.
