MGO gearing up for TGS 2015, Kojima shares some new pictures
Metal Gear Online is gearing up for this week’s Tokyo Game Show, where the game will be demonstrated and an as of yet unannounced mode will be revealed.

Kojima himself also posted some new photos, apparently he’s working on a trailer / video for Metal Gear Online.

He also shared some pictures with characters in various loadouts.

Lastly, some more crazy hats for the characters to wear, including the famous Crocodile Cap that was introduced in Metal Gear Solid 3.
As usual, merchandise will also be on display at the event.

They probably will, but even if they were integrated they wouldn’t share the same updates. You don’t need a Quiet mission fix for MGO. It’s normal for MGO to start as a 1.00v and will be getting its own updates on the side. The same happened with MGS4 and MGO, only MGS4 was barely updated at all

Kind of reminded me people wanting to get their MGO2 characters and costumes playable on 4’s Single Player as camo as soon as they were planning on pulling the plug.
yes you can take your avatar to the battlefield…at some point in the story you unlock that option.

A little off-topic, but I’ve to get this off my chest and I don’t know a better community for it:
So I haven’t beat MGSV yet (my last story mission was 31) and I got the credits and some upcoming scenes for the second chapter “race”. But the everywhere I go people call this game as “incomplete” or “the worst ending ever full of plot holes and unanswered questions” making this little to do with the previous games in the series. Basically saying this game adds nothing to the series as a whole, other than a new fun game play.
I’m really sad to hear all this since I had really big expectations of Kojima’s last MGS title and honestly it’s kind of affected my drive to keep playing this game as much.
Without spoilers, is it really that lukewarm?
Don’t be put off by people’s opinions on the internet. Just keep playing and judge for yourself. On the internet there is never any room for nuance, so keep that in mind.

And no, it’s not lukewarm. I think it is a perfect mixture of MGS 3 and Peace Walker and the story really is a good one. It is confusing at times, but nevertheless a real MGS plot.
the only thing that I am missing are some side-ops besides “prisoner extraction“ and “eliminate the tank unit“…PW had some really funny missions (Pooyan!!)…but, ah well, this is just me.
I thought the same when started unlocking more and more Side Ops. There’s too much “eliminate enemy threat” and “high-skilled soldier” (which they’re not even that high skilled) missions, and less random and funny missions. Not asking for Sahelanthropus hunter or anything like that, but was expecting the return of an evolved Pooyan, since you can extract almost anything in TPP now.
Yeah I don’t mind the main ops being similar in terms of mission objectives but the side-ops should of had some more variety and wow factor … haha. But the side-ops in TPP were still fun but lacking in variety.
Side-ops like Date with D-dog/Ocelot/Kaz/Quiet/Code Talker/etc, Pooyan missions, Missile intercept, Ghost missions, paparazzi (photography missions), Base/POW Defense, Hold-up (with banana gun!), etc would of been AMAZING for TPP.
But we can’t have it all. haha 🙂
Welcome to the club… But the rest is 100% worth it, just erase from you brain what you read. You are already unfortunately influenced and your judgement may be altered. Another important thing is to replay at least one time all from scratch for first, maybe discovering a lot of things you missed and second, to really realize that the game is huge and that you can easily forget it while progressing.
This game is not as bas as people say but it isnt perfect either …. Some here just forgot that the second half of chapter 2 went missing not to mention chapter 3 which is less important since we dont even have a complete chapter 2

I admit that i gave this game way too much hate maybe more than it deserves. But the problem is that its an metal gear game made by kojima …. It should not deserve any hate at all but it does and thats what bugs me. I just cant belive that kojimas final game was released before it was finished. I kinda feel alone with this pain …. Don’t listen others too much, sure many fans might dislike it for reasons but you can still love it. I’ve been a fan since 1998 and in my opinion the ending was good. Different from what I expected to see though :).
Fans just want so much so it might not fill their desires.
I have barely started Chapter 1 and I keep seeing negative comments in emails from disqus.
It’s sad really. I think I should just unsubscribe or something. It’s already ruining the game for me.
I personally feel like Chapter 1 was a perfectly acceptible ending in its own right, as it brings things full circle with Ground Zeroes. Chapter 2’s story is more sparse and mostly just gives additional context and closure for Chapter 1.
I do think the absence of the Phantom Episode (watch it on youtube after you finish the main story) makes the game feel incomplete. That’s the final mission the game needed to feel like it had a proper ending.
Without spoiling it, the game’s main ending… while it wasn’t necessary and doesn’t really add anything to the overall Metal Gear canon, it does deepen the player’s connection the series, which was obviously Kojima’s intention with this game.
The main complaint I see is that there are a lot of unanswered questions, which I completely disagree with. The story is mostly self-contained as it is. If you include the Phantom Episode, there’s closure for every single character in the game and there’s enough there to bridge it with the plots of Metal Gear and Metal Gear Solid with no need for further explanation.
The only other recurring complaint is the repetition of “hard mode” missions, and a lack of variety overall with the side ops… Which is a valid complaint, I suppose. But that’s optional stuff, and the game is already 60+ hours without it, so I personally have a hard time getting worked up over it.
Is the Phantom Episode the other disk that comes with the game?
I haven’t completed it fully, but so far I think it’s been good.
And like everyone else has said, just keep going and let Your own opinion be the deciding factor. 🙂
I think i was around the same level as you when i starded to see/hear all the same comments which made me worried for a bit as well.
In the end if you let other people opinion of the game and it’s ending get to you, it could begin to subtly alter how you feel about it as a whole before you experience everything. (sounds like it has started to already)
Just block it out and try to experience it in a vacuume. Then after you have experienced everything make up your own mind.

Two bad experiences with FOB, and i won’t touch it anymore.
I’m waiting for MGO3, since the first time it got announced. In fact, i was looking more for this, than TPP, lol.
I’m interested in the jungle environments in the multiplayer mode.
I liked the level with the Mansion where you need to save “someone”. It was super polished and showed the Fox engine capabilities really well.
Love it too. I was completely nuts since I first distinguished it in the TGS 2014 demo. And once in da mission(s) for real … Just WOW

Let me think, the game came out unfinished. As soon as you get to chapter 2 the game’s story all falls apart. Its all over the place and then we find out that Chapter 3 titled Peace was completely cut. Kojima’s vision for what this game was going to be was never fully realised.
The game has an ending, the story in chapter 2 is as structurally sound as any mgs plot, and there wasnt a chapter 3, just an episode 51. You have no idea what kojimas vision was

If you remember, Del Toro said that he would only make Hellboy 3 after Pacific Rim 2, and judging by the way Ron Perlman keeps pushing Hellboy 3, and how is obvious that 3,4 years from now Ron will be too old for the role, i will say that this is not good, AMAZING NEWS!

I’m very worried in regards to the class system they said they implemented into mgo. I hope its optional or something. I don’t want to feel limited in what i do. I want to make a character that can do whatever i want it to do given the situation.

The Phantom Pain was absolutely fantastic game, just not the best part in the franchise to be honest. The story isn’t that bad imo, but also it isn’t as epic as Guns of the Patriots or Snake Eater, but still pretty good. I think the game would have been perfect if it had one more location( USA, Russia?), more Harry Gregson-Williams, couple more bossfights and little bit of Solid Snake in the story. Solid Snake is easily the best character in the history of videogames and it breaks my geeky heart that we won’t see that guy in a mission never again! *Cries hysterically in a fetal position*

If there’s ever another Metal Gear, do you think it’ll continue to follow to formula of PW and TPP, with a mission select structure? Or do you think perhaps it would return back to its more linear story and gameplay style?
After playing Ground Zeroes. I think i prefer if they go back to the linear and close off environment. All they had to do is make multiple path ways and hidden passages ala Deus Ex or Dark Souls style. Multiple entry points like vents, shafts, underground tunnels etc. Bring back one on one boss fights from the older games as well.
And since Metal Gear MSX games are linear. It’s the perfect follow up for The Phantom Pain 🙂

Yeah that was something that Phantom Pain was severely lacking. Real boss fights. Except for Quiet and Sahelanthropus, there really wasn’t any. I dont think Eli and the Skulls segments should count.

I mean I shared my heart with them and was given the Power-Ranger thing at first place, guess where I ended… Me… Yet Hating Bioman they were not fuckin born yet. I found that pretty insulting too but went…, OK what’s that…? They accused me to look down on them but it is not my fault if they keep diapers… “Sahelanthropus is too hard”, going hiding to mummy’s safe ass… I tried to play with them saying that Snake is invincible because he is virtual, they would just go: “no !! Snake can die, you are out of your mind !!!, Sahelanthropus rail guns are so frightening”, stuff like that.
But the most spectacular thing was to get my original avatar replaced by a quite homophobic bitmap, whereas I was just stating that Snake is invincible…
And if some wonder when things went wrong, focus exactly on when they actually replaced my picture to have a real pitch of why I got mad.

Their behavior does not reflect my sensation of MGI, but I will be glad to provide a full discussmg6spoilers.org domain with a far more improved chat CMS (BTW) if needed so because I simply think they are poorly assorted with MGI.
