New Volume of Metal Gear Online Designer’s Notes gives hints on how to acquire MGO Titles

It’s been a while since the last one, but today the developers have posted another Designer’s Notes. This volume, number 23, is titled Sans Titulus Franca? – MGO Title Hints!, and as the title suggests it focuses on the titles you can obtain in Metal Gear Online and gives some hints in how to acquire them.

Hello and welcome back to Designer’s Notes, Vol. 23!
Today we’ll be going over key player inquiries on MGO Titles, but before we begin, let’s discuss some immediate community updates.

  • With the help of player reports we’ve been able to identify scores throughout the MGO leaderboard that could only be achieved through malicious player activity. We are fully investigating the battle records, resetting the scores, and removing offending players from the leaderboards.
  • As mentioned via the official Metal Gear Online Twitter, in order to combat players who exit midmatch, we’ve also implemented a rank point penalty decrease for AUTO MATCH and SURVIVAL missions. Players who exit/abandon a match after the briefing screen, will receive a decrease in rank points. If your rank score decreases it will be displayed in the next result screen.

We appreciate the continued reporting of malicious activity and unfair practices. We’ve recently updated the URL and navigation of our reporting form.
MGSV Official Site > FAQ & ENQUIRIES > Bottom of page select “No” > Select “Malicious Act Department” > Fill-out and submit form.

If you have any video or screenshot evidence, please be sure to include that in your report.

Since their implementation, many players have been working diligently to identify the criteria required to acquire MGO titles. Despite player efforts, for the hardest to achieve titles, the acquisition rate remains below 1%. In order to help players get even the most challenging titles, we’ve created these handy hints:

Title obtained rate status

Metal-Gear-Online-Title-Acquisition-Rate

One of the key parameters used when obtaining titles can best be described as the “Neutralization rate”.

“Neutralization rate” is calculated by the following formula:
(# of Kills + # of Stuns + # of Fultons) / (# of Deaths + # of Times Stunned + # of Times Fultoned) = Neutralization Rate
This way, even if player doesn’t die much during a match, if they are stunned or fultoned often, the rate will still be reduced.

Handy Hint List

For titles a player has already earned, if they’re able to fulfill the criteria three times over, they’ll receive a ‘bronze’ title. If the player earns the title six times, they’ll receive a ‘gold’ title. Obtained titles likewise can be worn as “Title T-shirts” to show off in matches. Aim for those Gold Titled Tees and make your mark on the battlefield!

Titles are calculated by the battle results each week, so even if you weren’t able to obtain a title the week before, try again after the maintenance.

That’s all for this Designer’s Notes, good luck on earning those titles and thanks for your continued support of Metal Gear Online.

See you next time on the battlefield!

            Well my curiosity

  • If only they implemented this in FOBs as well…

    • While FOB doesn’t have these same title rewards, it does contain online only challenge rewards, and nameplates.

      • Was referring to cheaters, they’ve been plaguing both MGO and FOBs

        • Which? Penalty or leaderboard cheater removal? If the latter, that is being implemented

          Reply
          • I don’t actually care to what happens to the cheaters, as long as they just fix the ability to cheat at all.

  • I’m trying to reach level 115 with one unit. I play fob events, change the points for s+ soldiers and I can’t go up. I’m in 112. Are the s++ soldiers going to make a big difference?
There is a strange thing: I did the test, from level 111 to 112 I needed A LOT of s+ soldiers, but if I delete something like 6 soldiers the level goes down from 112 to 111.

xD This is inter-related. Let’s put it under this form / equation :

Love for Kojima x Hype for Death Stranding = Hype for HideoTube

        ;D

        Reply
      • It’s because:

        1) Kojima is an interesting person/game designer
        2) Hideotube is very well directed. There is some nice budget. so it is entertaining to watch.
        3) I want to know about Kojima Productions future.
        4) I’m interested in Kojima’s developers and KojiPro development process.
        5) Japan, so it is nice to know how things are going up there. Previous episodes showed us Game-On. Cool gaming exhibition.
        6) There will be some information about the game, so it is already worth it.
        7) Huehuehue from Yano-san and EYEM BACH from Kojima-san
        8) I like Hideo Kojima’s tweets about music and movies and sometime’s I discover a movie or a music that I never knew before. I always try to check this stuff after watching his twitter or Hideotube episode.

        So yeah, HYPE.

Is it a Fat legacy one suffering from a possible YLOD or RLOD ??
In such case, you may try to use a hair dryer towards its aeration holes for a few minute and let all cool down before trying to turn the PS3 on again. It is not a durable fix, but could help the console to last a little bit more. I had this problem, soldering tin used for the chips is cracking with time. The only way to reliably fix it is reballing both Cell and RSX which can be tricky without the right tools.

Nah, it died because of mechanical reasons. It stopped throwing out my Discs and the HDD went downhill. But it was the first generation one so it held out amazingly well. So, if i ever get one again it’s gonna be a slim.

This is as close to real life Pokémon as we can get lol.
I saw lots of people yesterday walking around the park and city with their phones trying to catch Pokémon lol.

Congrats. I’m playing mgs4 again for the first time in years and it’s refreshing. Not going for a perfect run though; I think I’ve died about 5 times so far and got a lot of alerts. I’m sort of on a MGS binge right now. I beat 1, 2, 3 and now I’m on 4. I’ll be skipping 5 though because I hate the story, even though the gameplay is fun.

so true 😀 I wouldn’t call TPP a Metal Gear Game
the story is cheap and kinda reminds me of MGS2, u know Raiden/Medic impersonating you, but not that good :/
I wanted to know, what exactly turned Big Boss into the man who wanted war go on forever, but all we saw was how he drove away with a bike :I
        gameplay is good though 😀
