Promo video for the Wired MGSV: TPP watch shows Snake wearing it around his bionic wrist
Update 24/3: The promotional video has now been uploaded to Konami’s official Youtube channel. You can see the cutscene with Snake wearing the watch around his bionic arm at the start of the video. The soundtrack features a part of another version of Sins of the Father, different from the one we heard in the E3 2013 trailer.
As some people have pointed out, the game is still referred to as ‘A Hideo Kojima Game’ in this video, but keep in mind that it was made before this whole commotion.
At Baselworld 2015, a watch and jewelry show held in Switzerland, a promo video for the Metal Gear Solid V: Wired X The Phantom Pain watch was displayed. In it, we can see a brief new cutscene (it’s not certain this will be in the game, but it seems likely, although it could also have been made for this video only). In the scene Big Boss observes the watch, which has been attached to his bionic arm.

Update: The Official Kojima Productions Twitter account has posted a couple of pictures of the watch on display at the event. The other two Wired Metal Gear watches (for Rising and for Ground Zeroes) are being shown off there as well.

Dear Kojima Productions, if you see this comment, please fix those 2 things for GZ, just 2 minor things…apart from The Driving, but that’s another discussion.
1. Make Snake able to slide down ladders, in GZ he just drops down ladders, he doesn’t slide down them, which is not a problem in GZ since there are only small ladders, but in TPP where we could find 50/100 meters ladders, that will be a problem, Snake dropping down Huge Ladders and losing health instead of sliding down them would be just “Dark Souls” level of Frustration, would be a HUGE Gameplay Flaw, so i beg you fix that.
2. Snake should be able to aim a 1 Handed weapon while hanging or while climbing.
That’s all i have to say regarding feedback from Ground Zeroes to The Phantom Pain, just those 2 minor things that would make a huge difference in good in Gameplay.
Now dear Metal Gear Community, do you agree at least with the sliding down ladders, if yes then let Kojima Productions Community Manager Robert know that i’m not alsone…at least i hope so.
sliding down the ladders requirement is not a major thing (IMO),but it would be welcoming…and judging from the TGS gameplay,i think they could implement the same system MGS3 had with climbing/shooting
Yes, but dropping down 50/100 meters ladders would be hilariously bad, especially if he doesn’t get any damage.
I started thinking about being able to shoot while climbing or hanging while watching the TGS Demo, thinking that while climbing that cliff, that Snake should be able to use the Tranq Gun if spotted climbing.
Another thing is not being able to use the Tranq while Driving in case you get spotted…but based on the Afganistan Demos looks like you able to use weapons while on Vehicles…at least while on horses.

That’s the first thing I thought too. Imagine sliding down that ladder by accident, or even dropping. It reminds me of the Shinra building in FF7.

The Game is Open World set in 1984, of course there will be some Huge Ladders at some point, even at your Mother Base.
yeah thats what made stealthy driving in jeeps impossible, i hope they add more shooting chances
Climbing shooting is really needed for when that one guard turns a corner when you start climbing

I agree that would be nice, and even though I think it would be to late to implement such features because of needing mo-cap actors for the actions mentioned, but I won’t say it is impossible because you never know with Kojima productions, specifically Kojima 🙂

It would be a nice touch if they were in TPP but I won’t be sad if they’re not.
IMHO it would be nice to get Snake to slide into cover. It would be a cool realistic way to get out of “oh f***” situations :P.
im in if that can be done without turning the stealth into another Splinter cell.. Plus rather than a slide function i would like just a small animation where he is desperate for cover in those last seconds than a plain slide into cover.. it would turn into a huge open splinter cell then.. always sliding around rather than crawling and stuff… not to say that is bad or anything but it would sorta not feel right MGS .. IMHO
What I meant by sliding is just a slight variation of what you already have when you press the square button on PlayStation (sorry, I don’t know the buttons for the other platforms).
In other words, when you’re sprinting you’d be given a chance to slide instead of just throwing yourself to ground.
That way you could keep all of the stealth elements (you’re not suppose to sprint until the alarm goes off IMHO).
He does, but you have to do it manually, by that i mean Quick Dash Left/Right.
There might not be massive ladders in the game so I don’t care about ladder sliding. The shooting while climbing idea is great but I probably wouldn’t care if it wasn’t in the game, we’d just have to be extra careful before climbing.
This even is in Sweden, right? I hope this really comes out in Europe and the US and this is a good sign, unless these events showcase Japanese-only products. EDIT: Silly me, meant Switzerland.

I think there is a cutscene like that in the game, but probably without the watch. It’s probably a scene where if you upgrade your arm. Maybe it has more features they haven’t revealed? Also i don’t think the arm was yellow in the first place(pretty sure it’s red)
Jeez… you would think such an advanced robotic arm would have a built-in clock and not require you to strap on a wristwatch!
Kojima looks like a kid with a new toy. He discovered that he can put real life objects into the game by scanning, and now he does it with everything. Rocks, glasses, watches, his face xD loving it.
knowing how they showed of His ray ban specs and the Sony walkman cassette player in PW.. It may as well be in the game 🙂
