Short documentary talks about the cancelled Metal Gear Solid games and concepts
Youtube channel GVMERS has released an interesting video chronicling the various Metal gear concepts and ideas that were cancelled or scrapped during production. In the 17 minute documentary they talk about the Metal Gear Solid port for Game.Com, the cancelled Metal Gear Solid: Rising concept, and ideas that were cut from Metal Gear Solid 2, among other things. You can check out the video below, and it’s worth a watch.
With the future of the series highly uncertain following the departure of Hideo Kojima and other notable talents attached to the series from Konami, we felt that it would be worthwhile to investigate some of the series’ more fleshed-out rebuffs, to both wonder about what could have been – and show how many of these failures served as the foundation for future successes. From an ambitious iteration of Metal Gear Solid 2 featuring great white sharks and a mind-reading mask, to a subversive spin-off that went as far as to be showcased on-stage at E3 before being cancelled, and then revived under a different name and developer, the history of the Metal Gear Solid series’ rejected concepts illustrates that while some of the most inspired ideas will never see the light of day, others just need the right time and place to flourish.
As explained in the video, some ideas that were scrapped were carried over into the next installment, or repurposed in a new form. Others, unfortunately, never came to fruition, most notably the game about The Boss’ Normandy mission, a promising concept to both Hideo Kojima and the fanbase. On the subject of Metal Gear Solid: Rising, Kojima Productions did state years ago that the finished script is still there on some shelf, and they may use it some day, though it’s hard to say if this is still accurate after all the changes happening within the studio. Either way, it’s interesting to look back at some of the ideas that ultimately weren’t to be – and we never know what the future may bring.

The picture of The Boss in the thumbnail is from a fan-art by DirOff:

This idea of The Boss being in her own spinoff game would have been BANANAS. To be a female protagonist in any MGS game would. I even wrote about it in a blog I used to write in some years ago:
https://nekkedsnake.wordpress.com/2014/03/29/an-mgs-game-about-the-boss-would-be-um-baws/
The Boss is just a great character in general. She taught Big Boss everything he knows. What MGS fan wouldn’t want to play THAT game??
Not to mention to see her when she was a young woman. So many possibilities. WWII espionage action in close-quarters.
Dream game boiz.
Yeah, and the line EVA said in MGS3 about her giving birth on the Battlefield was a great set up for that game. Thankfully we still got the same “Technical Experience” with TPP.
TBH, as awesome as it sounds, I think it was best that they didn’t make a game on the boss. One of the key points that make the boss such a good character is that no matter what she’s forever shrouded in mystery and uncertainty. Giving her a game would remove that and pull her down for her characters legendary status
I’d love a game with the Boss as the protagonist.
Thank goodness we didn’t have a game about traitor. Because she was a true traitor! And I still claim that she wanted to kill Snake and double-cross everyone. I mean, she killed me ten times in a row in MGS3! She had a plan all that time to frame Snake in her dirty deeds.
In short, I want a game about Ocelot. He’s cool and have never betrayed Snake (thanks to MGS4, we know it quite well!).
Big Boss didn’t see it that way, eventually. Remember the end of MGS4, where he is saluting her grave? “You were right.”
Well, maybe you’re right, but at this point of MGS saga I prefer to blame his senile dementia for that line.
There is no indication that he was suffering from dementia though.
I’d rather watch a Netflix/AMC show about Ocelot, there is so much potential there.
For some reason i herd Led Zeppelin in my head looking at this!
I beard beastie boys but moby dick passes too . But why not the music from thjs era . Wes Montgomery , Django Reindhart style masterpieces
Just the feeling the font “Dream of The Cobra” gave me.
This would have been very amazing <3.
I’ve always had a crush on the boss. She managed to be sexy without being sensual. I always thought Big Boss was lucky to be tossed around by her.
>Kojima Productions did state years ago that the finished script is still there on some shelf
I’m don’t want to be rude, but hell, they should have just burned it right after MGR release, because MGRising story was one of the best in MG series.
The Original “Solid Rising” could still work.
Platinum Games might take notes from Rockstar, and make the Sequel a Prequel!
Didn’t know that they actually showed the trailer for Rising when it was at development at Konami, thought it was cancelled way before that stage. Making a Rising with more stealth elements still seems a neat idea and so does The Boss game.
Question: Does anybody know a Video Capturing Mod for MGSV similar to GTA V Rockstar Editor, something that would allow me to capture Gameplay for a few minutes, then go back to that Gameplay and move the camera afterwards?
I’m trying to cut TPP as a 2/2:30 hours Movie, and i want to include Gameplay Scenes, like the Sahelantropus fight, but made as a cutscene, keeping the same Directorial Style seen throughout TPP.
Thanks in advance
Mmmh, unless I am mistaken it seems any animation recorded in TPP is directly rasterized to a video file. Never used R* editor but as you are describing it, it seems you have a hand on the 3D scene before rasterizing a possible animation with GTAV. TPP appear to use the standard PS4 OS share feature only, so will basically record game’s rendering output, but won’t have any hand on the engine, like RAGE appear to let you do..
Yeah, searched a bit and found “InfiniteHeaven”, it’s not as Extensive as Rockstar Editor, it only allows “free camera” during Gameplay, so i might be able to work with that, if i can both play and Movie the camera in the “Kojima Style”…or perhaps have my Brother play the actual moment (heavy rehearsal will be required) while i’ll move the camera with either the mouse and keyboard, or a controller, for a more fluid movement closer to TPP Cinematography.
Anyway, thanks.
Good luck, Lex !
Please keep us tuned ! ;D
I will. Until then i still have to figure out what scenes and what subplots to keep, and which to cut. Yes, it won’t be an “All Cutscenes Full” version, so things like the DD Cutscenes, or the entirety of Ground Zeroes will be cut, since they are shown again in pieces in TPP anyway. I do wanna keep one scene that isn’t feature in TPP though, the fight at Mother Base
will. I do wanna find a way to include one scene that isn’t feature in TPP though, the fight at Mother Base, it’s important.
Thinking of inserting the scene when Venon is first hit in the head, while Big Boss was driving.
https://youtu.be/OpO2rk2PPE0?t=53m38s
That’s when it will flashback to this part, seeing how the frame, scenario, and even sound effect makes for a fitting seamless transition here!
https://youtu.be/l1Ns1Fj138k?t=1m44s
The scene will end when Kaz yells “SNAKE” which will swiftly tranform in to Ocelot yelling “I’M ON YOUR SIDE…HURRY!” when the effect will pas, Venom not knowing how he got there.
This will fix one of the problems TPP has with the passage of time, we know time has passed, that TPP is not all in 1984, but we are not show how he lost track of time, and i wanna imply that by constant time jumps, with Venom not knowing how he got in certain situations, making the audience fell confused constantly, but intrigued at the same time, that’s the fine line i’ll have to walk on this one, to make the choppy editing look and feel… deliberate!
Yeah, out of the key rushes, you will achieve a great video instead of linearly stick all the cut-scenes together. I trust you for giving it the S++ theorist pace and suspense ! 😀
How about M51 ?? did you plan to include some of those rushes too ??
Keep up the good job !
https://i.ytimg.com/vi/ceeDo4oNIQM/maxresdefault.jpg
Actually yeah, i am planing on having pats of that, otherwise the plot twist ending wouldn’t make sense (like it didn’t in the actual game) because Mission 51 reveals that, and more, it reveals the birth of “Sons of Big Boss” from MGS1, how Psycho Mantis and liquid formed the group, and seeing how Mantis has the Ability to cure the Disease, and how Quiet has at The End the Sniper Wolf Rifle, and how Kojima made a big deal out of that (Visually, focusing on the Rifle at hand) she is Sniper Wolf, Mantis Cured her.
So i would keep the Quiet Scenes as well…and i might even have the second part of the “Movie” all from her perspective, i mean Chapter 2 is mainly her Story!
Funny Enough i understand why some people didn’t like TPP, it’s like BVS, (Batman V Superman) it has a lot of subplots that don’t ad to the main plot, but serve a purpose for the franchise, and i have to say, TPP feels like it was intended to be the Story of Big Boss, but instead it became the Origin Story for Liquid, Mantis, Quiet, and MGS1, it lost focus, but the reason it worked, is because it wasn’t a 3 hours Movie, like BVS was…and i’m basically doing that, but now, i will cut the plots that go nowhere!
You’ll cut the plots that go nowhere like a bonsai tree… ;P
Sounds hot, looking forward to checking it !
Thanks man, you guys support fuels my desire to make it, so thank you to the 7 people that are looking forward to this, hopefully when it’s done, there will be more.
V has come to.
Peace
May the Force be with you, Lex Radu !
Indeed. This will be me soon!

Please let us know about your work when you’ve something. Look up “George Salonikh” on YouTube, in particular his “Realistic MOD” missions to have a little reference as what can be done with some of the free camera mode feature of that mod. Keep in mind he’s more focus on gameplay than cinematography and still pull up some good shots on those videos of basically enemy soldiers going through their routine. Couple those with some dynamic camera changes while playing as Venom Snake and it would look fantastic.
That’s the thing, i wanna keep it 1 shot, like the actual TPP.
It is a lot harder what i’m trying here, but that’s the point, pushing my limits, giving myself a challenge, cause if the final result is like all the other Movie version, if i bring nothing unique, why do i even bother doing the same thing people did better?
It all depends on your skill as a player and creativity in how you direct the shots. I think you would be fine. Many enemy soldiers break into casual conversation while infiltrating. You can easily add that and enhance the video. As for the 1 shot segments, Ground Zeroes beginning is a great example you can use as inspiration.
Good luck and keep us posted. Looking forward for your project!
I just did, and i’m impressed with the intro of this one!

So Infinite heaven is the way to go!
I know, right? It’s a good starting point for inspiration. Glad to be of assistance.
Thank you, now i know what to do!
MGI community, please vote for http://www.gamesradar.com/goldenjoystickawards/#most-wanted-game
Death Stranding.
Thanks in advance.
Aaaaand…done.Voted, with a big V.
Sure brotha, here ya go.
I will :D!
To tell you the truth… as of right now I’m far more interested in Far Cry 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 than Death Stranding. I mean, we can easily think about DS as a perfect game because Kojima and all, but still I want to see gameplay first :/
But we haven’t seen RDR2 gameplay either.
Heh, wanna bet? I think it will be quite close to RDR1 😀
On the other hand we don’t even know what DS is all about.
It’s an action game. Third person game.
We know that.
Also, it will be on a Decima engine and it will look great.
ofc. ;P that is not enough but you are prolly an experienced gamer soooooooo You can prolly figure it out using your imagination how it will look. 😛
Well, you know Splatoon, Uncharted and MGSV are action games with third person view, so… 😀
But yeah, it will look great for sure. Horizon looked amazing.
But that’s also what makes DS interesting. We know almost nothing about it, it’s a completely new IP and will probably a new kind of experience. The trailers look intriguing and the concepts Kojima has mentioned so far also sound interesting.
Hehhe
Botw sure got a lot of the votes from even tho didn’t play it
These are the kind of gaming videos that I absolutely love – In depth and informative. It’s the antithesis of pewdiepie videos which I loathe. Thanks for sharing Nyxus!
Wtf
Don’t get me wrong I watched them because of their six days in fallujah, spec ops the line and star wars 1313 vids a few weeks earlier and don’tdo understand that comparison . And thank you very nuch nyx
A Voyevoda game must happen. Been saying that since I beat snake eater the first time. Side note : a current gen remake of portable ops would be pretty sweet as well. I’d like to see both of those happen but most likely never will. Even tho portable ops technically Isent cannon to the story. Still would like to see a current gen remake
Would love to have Portable Ops with FoxEngine, even if not canon because back in time, I felt lazy to beat it because of the quite awkward controls of the PSP. The game was very playable though, but I feel missing something nevertheless..
In terms of gameplay, I think that PW did everything MPO was going for considerably better. The only thing I wish PW brought back is the disguise system, because it was a kinda neat idea that unfortunately didn’t work as well as it could have in MPO. Frankly, I think the biggest problem really is the controls. By trying to cram MGS3’s gameplay onto a system without the necessary buttons or additional analog stick, they made a game that didn’t control as well as it could have. PW played a lot better because Kojima and co. took the time to consider what the PSP was actually capable of and designed the controls around that, rather than try and force it to do something it couldn’t.
Well, that and having to drag soldiers all the way across the map whenever you wanted to recruit them. That was also really bad.
Could not better describe the whole feeling. All was great, but a bit too tedious as you described.. Kojima brought all back to a real MG in terms of gameplay with PW.
Yea just imagine the Cunningham boss fight running on the Fox engine lol
Sorry to disappoint you but I did not went that far on this one, Just checked the fight on YT.. Looks awesome…
I may try again to beat it with PSP emu or something. I mean, my Fat PSP is somewhere, btw I have a physical copy of PO.. Not sure where, but not too far, I guess… 😛
Emu should do..
Got this cute little system.

Do you play games on it Nyxus? Or do you just collect them?
Mainly a collector’s item tbh. But played a bit on it today.
How could’nt you ?? ;DD
Congrats.

Great news for PC-only players! Nioh is a really great game.

Heeeeyyyyy MrVux !!! Back on the blue ?? I hope it was not too hard to go back on board after all those good times in the shire.. Happy sailing !

Waiting for my flight plans from the company. The only thing i’m not looking forward to is bloody paperwork and 12 hour flights.
But dont you worry ill keep in touch or at least take a sneaky peak on MGI. 😉
12 hrs.. I hope they paid you biz class if you are a tall guy 😛
Have a nice flight buddy, looking forward more gifs !
Nope, economy class just like other mortals.
Thanks man, hopefully I’ll get some sleep on flight (not likely).

Ho shoot.. You are over 170cm.. Can’t you use your charms on a hostess to put you in front of rows… Using your sailor / crew / techniques, after all a plane is a ship, solidarity between crews at least !?… Hold tight, bro…

Wow this is coming to pc?! I never expected this!! I am very excited as you can tell by all of these exclamation marks!
Doubt it since Nioh is owned by Team Ninja and Bloodborne is co-developed and owned by Sony.
Andrew House is leaving: https://www.sony.net/SonyInfo/News/Press/201710/17-1003E/index.html
Ah, it is a smooth transition.. Ouf ! I was afraid there was something wrong but it feels like those big groups name Presidents to execute some officious mandates, but still have heavy voice on the board afterwards.
Not sure what he’ll do after the transition, though..
Official SIE statement (a bit more exhaustive) :
https://www.sie.com/en/corporate/release/2017/171003.html
Let’s remember Andy’s glorious announcement:

Also this legendary moment :
https://youtu.be/Sl0Sb46g-BE?t=46s
And one legendary Gif https://i.imgur.com/Hyh3veT.gif
This does not look bad, since we are all out of info.. We need to figure out what’s next for him. If he quit Sony, it would be surprising regarding his results during his mandate.. I think / hope he’ll stay with Sony. 27 years of success, I doubt there is water in gas … We’ll see his next position. Either something big at Sony or nothing (I prefer the first option).
Goodbye mini Bashar. Pro tip: Don’t go somewhere too sunny or you’ll look just like him.
OT : After discussing about skipping Portable Ops on PSP, I decided to give it a new shot with an emulator, and… Holly Sh.t… The mofo rendering engine through emulator manages to very decently rasterize geometry in 4K (o_O) at a quite cool framerate (something like 15 fps)…
Yeeeeyyyaaah, can you believe that ? I just tried PPSSPP 1.3….
Some of you guys are probably aware of that, but it is a very sweet surprise for me.
The UI bitmaps are of course lower res rasters so blurry, but the g.dd.mn 3D scene geometry is rendered in 4K !!! Look ! :DDD

Wait a minute! PO is canon. If I recall correctly it’s mentioned in PW.
It’s sort of, but not quite: http://www.metalgearinformer.com/?p=13215
Said “non-canon” between double-quotes on purpose because there is still a debate. To me it is so good that canon or not, I love it !
Off-topic: Oats Studios is back, with a sequel to a Video i didn’t know was Oats Studios to beging with.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R8NeB10INDo
Remember when we thought that was Kojima?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GXI0l3yqBrA
I don’t know if they did the chapter 1.
It sure has the Blomkamp/Kojima camera work.
They didn’t do the first ADAM. That was just a tech demo made by the Unity team, and enough people wanted a continuation that they hired Oats to make one.
So i just started recently playing “Snatcher”, the SEGA CD Version, and realized that “Snake Eater” wasn’t his first attempt at making a Video Game that is also a Letter to a specific 00’s era of Movie, while Snake Eater was a Letter to 60’s Spy Movies, Snatcher is a Letter to 80’s Cyberpunk Cinema, and just like Snake Eater, is a Cheesy Action Comedy Drama, except this one is also Noir and has a mystery at his base Story.
That being said, how come this Franchise was never Revisited, i love this world, a world where Metal Gear is a Game, like in ours, and Kojima and Konami too.
Anyway, i would be exited if someone like Rockstar or Deep Silver, who know how to mix Camp and Drama, can put their hands on the rights of this, before F**Konami turns this franchise in to another Pashitncoslot.
When I had played Snatcher I always asked myself: where’s the line between homage and plagiarism? I mean, Snatcher ripped off Blade Runner and Terminator so blatantly that you can’t even say that it’s a homage :/
At this time it was less transgressive to rip stories and environments. The target audience was not as wide as it is right now and due to hardware performance weakness / limitations, it was pretty fairly tolerated to have heavy references to other movies franchises because we were all, as gamers, mainly focusing on new gameplay designs.
In the classroom, in 80-90’s we were only 5-10 % playing games and treated like “mouse potatoes” or “nerds” (being mocked but assuming it, though, xD) so the audience was poor, and the dev teams were also small since games were not generating as much profit as nowadays.
As a more abstract example, take a look at the first Donkey Kong which was a King Kong movie rather heavy rip-off with also the blonde girl to save..
Or Barbarian, where characters were clearly copied from Conan..
Or Aztec on Apple II… A clear copy of Indiana Jones with his whip (was awesome)..
The medium was mainly leaving place to code rather than resources so devs needed the public to identify themselves / understand as quick as possible what was a video game. Using well known movies references helped them a lot in this endeavor, that’s why those “ripp-off” moves were conscientiously done and perfectly assumed by devs without being at all considered as any kind of ideas rights infringements by others.

Got you. But the problem is, Snatcher was not an arcade or action game like Aztec or Donkey Kong. It was developed as an adventure game aka “interactive movie” where story is the main reason to play it. And when you rip off the whole story and characters it’s hard (at least for me) to suspend my disbelief :/
I understand. Story and design elements received obviously heavy influences from those both movies. A snatcher is indeed almost a T-800 or this pyramidal building looking 1:1 Tyrell Corp’s HQ…
The story is also a mix of various familiar franchises events.
Kojima made some parts like a hybrid Terminator / Blade Runner title as some small bases, but there is way more in the story than just a copy-pasto of Blade Runner, making it a genuine autonomous interactive novel that stayed alone in its kind for a very long time.
The game also contains more than a regular adventure game in terms of gameplay sequences, mixing arcade sometimes with puzzle-solving ones, even if the title is largely full of conversation / narrative like a proper adventure one.
You said you were on the edge of calling it a homage or plagiarism.. I respectfully think it is rude. Instead I think you could consider that Snatcher was influenced by those movies. ;D
The Difference is that Snatcher is a Campy take on those 2 Movies, think of it like the fine line between Spoof and Adaptation, i mean, if you say this about Snatcher, the same has to be said about Snake Eater, and Rambo and 60 Bond Rip-Off, but it didn’t matter, because it was perfect, it has his identity outside the sources that inspired it, same for Snatcher, it feels like a homage to Cyberpunk.
Also, Blade Runner as far as i’m concerned wasn’t the first Cyberpunk Story ever.
It certainly didn’t, but it was the first media product who had distinctive visualization of what cyberpunk is all about. That’s why to this day it’s still one of the best cyberpunk film (even though the story itself sucks).
Well, Snake Eater was blatant in terms of “insipations” as well. I won’t argue that. And I didn’t like it. To this day MGS1 is the king for me. It’s Kojima’s magnum opus.
The Philip K. Dick original story does not suck. Nor the movie’s initial cut. Dick seeded some of the very root of sci-fi & cyberpunk. Not sure if Scott is responsible of your disappointment, but the story is just incredible and unique. For those that did not read the book, Scott’s dir cut leave some better clues..
Unicorn… Piano… it does not suck at all.
Final cut ftw
That narration sure sucked tho imo . Have you already watched 2049 Kaveh? While the first one relied heavily on visuals (I mean there is no excessive exposition in 2049 either) the sequel has a very heavy story relying on your attachment to the first one
Hi Jatin, yes, I checked it yesterday night.. I hate to say that but I am disappointed. I feared it would be like Blade Runner 101 for noobs, but was not expecting it would be to those extents..
I think I am more mad at critics who heavily rated it, clearly showing how poorly documented they were on the story. Because of them and their high rankings, I had strong expectations, my fault, I should not have let the hype gain me that high.
The visuals and the audio are stunning, though, no doubt about that, and Jared is exceptional. Very convincing CGI model of Rachael, not perfect (something slightly weird near her eyes attitude), but way better / outstanding than any character CGI challenges such as in star wars..
BUT … The story takes ages to develop way too obvious and poor things, to the point I checked my watch 4 to 5 times even wondering if I should leave the theater instead of pursuing the torture..
Can you believe that ?!
There is definitely something wrong with the pace of a poorly original sequel story..
They tried to “play” it ala first one but got too many things wrong.
RRRRRhhh… I am usually quite tolerant with movies, but here, I think I won’t even re-check it BD… 🙁
Not sure if you watched it already but if not, sorry to bring the bad news.
Everyone has his opinions .The soundtrack was a bummer for me
Well, Denis Villeneuve fired the previous one because he was not Vangelistic enough.. In the absolute, I agree with you. In the mean time, it sounds at least as a fair copy of Vangelis style.. ;D
But yeah, to me nothing beat that…
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RScZrvTebeA
It was revisited, kind of. Kojima worked with Suda 51 (No More Heroes, Killer 7) on a radio drama sequel to the game called SDATCHER. There’s a fan translation available on YouTube.
The reason there was never a direct sequel is because MGS got too successful. From 1998 to 2015, Kojima only directed MGS games, and produced a handful of side projects in the PS2 era. And despite having a cult following, the first game still wasn’t big enough for Konami to feel it would be worthwhile to produce a sequel.
OT-ish: So remember how some people found data in MGS3D that suggested that it was intended to have Extra Ops at some point? Well, I guess someone didn’t do a good enough job cutting them out, because someone was able to play one of those missions in-game.

Off-Topic: In case any of you are wondering how that Solid Snake statue looks like in real life
https://www.facebook.com/ign/videos/10155251684716633/
It May sound strange but I’d love a statue of Otacon and Emma Emmerich when they were both happy. I really enjoyed those two in MGS2 (the best MGS game) and felt their relationship and backstory added an incredible amount of emotional depth to the game. I cried when she died and when that bird started saying “Hal, I miss you Hal, I miss you” I just lost it. Her death was so emotional because I spent so much time with her. I got to know her by listening to her talk about y2k, her fear of water and her brother. I was invested the whole time. I was angered and vengeful when any guards shot at her while she screamed, worried about accidentally drowning her because I sucked at those swimming sequences, and relieved when I got her somewhere safe.
I think her death is the saddest and one of the most well done scenes in the entire series. We all care about her death because of the time we spent with her, but the scene also shows us a different side of the hardened killer Solid Snake. We see the sadness in Solid Snake’s face when she dies and that moment alone is so wonderful because it shows us that Snake feels just like everyone else. Snake has probably seen more people die than anyone in the universe, but we see in this scene that he hasn’t become completely calloused. And the expression we see upon his face shows us a pain that not even Ocelot could inflict upon him.
The proceeding emotional distress Otacon shows was palpable, and his strength to carry on after losing Emma gave me a whole new level of respect for this great character. The only scene that even comes close to this masterpiece of art is the death of the Boss. So a statue of a young Big Boss training with the Boss would be pretty sweet too.
This is really interesting, i feel stupid for not noticing those inconsistencies and hints.
Like Devolver Studio Girl would say…Check a look.
PS: On a side note, only now i noticed that it was Campbell saying “You created a Time Paradox!” and not Major Zero!
https://youtu.be/sMTtWXtpYhU
The original joke with Campbell saying “You created a time paradox!” was lost when translated from Japanese. Or, rather, the casting was messed up.
In the Japanese dub of the series, Campbell is voiced by the same voice actor who dubbed Christopher Lloyd in the Back to the Future films. Thus, when Campbell tells you that you created a time paradox, it’s not supposed to be Campbell, it’s supposed to be Doc Brown. This wasn’t carried over to the English dub, either because the voice director didn’t understand the casting gag or (more likely) they couldn’t get Christopher Lloyd to come in and do a cameo for the game. Thus, you get theories like this, which spin a whole continuity-spanning conspiracy theory based on a mis-translated casting gag.
Yeah, that’s exactly why Metal Gear is Perfect, every theory is true, including those who aren’t, there is enough evidence for every theory ever created, because MG in itself it is a Paradox, and that’w why we love making theories abouyt it, they enever stop, and they never get old!
Soooooo nothing new regarding Death Stranding came from NYCC 2017, i guess i was right, boss was there indeed, howevers it seems he wan’t there to show it, but to build more bridges for it.
Either way, i’m happy Hideo had another opportunity to meet with some new actors, and overall talented people from Hollywood!
It appears he was perhaps finally on a flash business trip on the west coast and headed back to Japan right after. Not sure but I think he landed in San Francisco the last time.
However, BGS 10 inauguration is in 2 days and since he’ll say something there and hold 2 panels the 2 following days, he should be boarding soon.
Here is the agenda :

Let’s hope he’ll drop at least small crisps..
Fingers crossed… ;D
There he goes!

Doubt we’ll hear anything new. If he had something to tell he probably would have said it at NYCC. But here’s hoping
He was in the states but we are not sure if he effectively attended NYCC or was on a quick biz trip on the west coast…
Regarding BGS, we better not expect much indeed, but he’s programmed to show up in 2 panels plus inauguration..
Maybe he’ll share some little snapshots.. Maybe not.. Just let’s wait and see.
He wasn’t at NYCC it seems

Hmm, Geoff apparently attended NYCC though. Not sure where they met on 1st Oct. It felt like west coast as you guessed in first place..

Btw, do you know if the inauguration will be live-streamed somewhere on their twitch or YT channels ??
It is in only 2-3 hrs… (the agenda says 12h50 Sao Paulo = 17h50 for Europe..) ;D
Not sure. At least some parts are being live streamed it seems.
R U sure it is not sure ? 😀 Fingers crossed to at least see Boss !

Kojima receives his award tomorrow it seems. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/79e122f3e3e58bc8027d66f0a087031e27ea1d6346e8a9c3cb984a069f2b4c2c.png
Mmmh weird… I am in the train / can’t check.
If it is a typo, their wall of fame stuff of 14h should happen within the next minutes..
Don’t worry about it. It probably won’t be anything else than Kojima receiving another award. 😛 For some new footage we will likely have to wait for PSX…
Thx in all cases, I am perhaps needing the serum that bad.. For sure yet another statue.. Even if there was nothing at PSX, I would still be 1000 % confident, but would just be surprised to have that less for 2017.. 😀
I am sure he’ll give us something substantial at PSX and possibly TGA exclusive like last year. ;D
At least we’ll get an interview out of this event. Sid Shuman interviewed Kojima.

Cool, there is also this Globo interview and this late show equivalent SBT “Noite”…
Ayako-chan re-tweeted few stuff, I am sure you checked them already :

Ah the memories! Pretty funny he’s still surrounded by the same people though.
The atmosphere feels really friendly and informal… They seem to have a great time there. ;D
KP confirmed yesterday that he’ll show up on Brazil Game Cup’s Twitch. Should be in a little less than one hour :
