Konami has no plans to bring Metal Gear Solid: The Legacy Collection to Europe

Metal Gear Solid: The Legacy Collection will release next month in Japan and the US, but it seems an European version is not being developed at this time.

Konami has confirmed on their official Facebook page that they have ‘no plans’ for a European release, but this may ‘change down the line’.

“We currently do not have plans to release in Europe. If this changes you’ll hear it here first.”

“We do not currently have plans, does not mean that it won’t change down the line. We’re always exploring other possibilities.”

Bad news for European Metal Gear fans or those who were looking to get into the series using this collection. The Legacy Collection will launch on July 11 in Japan for around ¥6500, and July 9 in the US for around $50.

    Well this sucks…

  • PrinceHeir

well you can import it on play asia if you really can’t wait.

plus the games has no DLC’s watsoever, so you don’t have to worry about missing any content.

i have both US and JPN preordered so next week is gonna be amazing!!!!

But will the games that are downloads (MGS1 and VR missions) work?

      • PrinceHeir

you have a point, but still creating a US account is easy ^^

    • Akiha

But you can’t play it on an european PS3, right? :/

      • PrinceHeir

        PS3 is region free!! 😛

just create a separate user and account and set the region to US!!

the only problem is that the trophies will only be stored on the account you play.

so if you platinum one of the games on your US account, it’s just stays there and doesn’t transfer to different regions/

HOWEVER you can play any other region game on any region PSN account.

for example, i have a US PSN account and im playing the japanese version of No More Heroes Heroes Paradise, i’ll still get the trophies for the US account, but the trophies and descriptions and even the title of the game will be in japanese language just as the region of your game is.

so if you have a korean version of a game, you’ll still received the trophies, but if you check the game on your trophy page it will be korean text.

im glad sony didn’t restrict the trophies for different regions of games.

so i can have a US account, and have multiple trophies from different regions!!

and that’s why Region Free is the BEST thing to have come out this generation!

Thank you so much! I had no idea! 😀 So I can still get the games, awesome! 😀

          • PrinceHeir

            yup!

      • PrinceHeir

the only PS3 game so far that is not region free is Persona 4 Arena.

but that’s just Atlus being an asshole and making shitty excuses like the reverse importing will lead to low sales.

BS, then why market it on high prices in the first place? and why does EU had to wait a full year to get the game?

  • Randgriz

    Thanks Konami /sarcasum
