Like last year, Eurogamer is offering a 60 frames per second version of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain’s E3 trailer on their website. The resolution is 1280 x 720.
To watch the video, go here. To download it, follow this link (the file is 136 MB in size).
Unrelated, but it’s kind of funny when they say they need a lot of time for their game play trailers when people who do speed runs can probably learn the map in half the time.
its not so much as remembering the map… i’m sure they have that down… the thing is presentation of the camera angles and what exactly they’re going for as far as the demo goes. The presenter and the guy playing through the demo need to be as synced as possible therefore there are no extreme surprises when they’re trying to present their work to the public. It has everything to do with business, its their job, they’re representing Kojima Productions, and in hand Konami….
talking about bit rates on MGS trailers…
did you notice that the MPW, MGS HD and MGR trailers got some pretty shitty compressing?
also on MGS3 HD Edition TGS remaster trailer the youtube version has horrible bitrate even on the 1080p res it looks worse than plugging a ps2 via 480i cable on a huge 1080p tv… but they uploaded a version to the japanese version of mgs.com even when the resolution is closer to dvd the bit rate is higher and the video is 60fps…. shame is only 480p…
Some interesting analysis…. I dont know if any of you have mentioned it. Remember when this was suppose to be a game by a Moby Dick studios? Well… funny…. the guy with the bandages in the trailer… is called Ishmael. One of Moby Dicks characters…. so maybe Big Boss is some sort of Captain Ahab. Here is a small analysis of the novel. I think that this is the direction in which Kojima is going. Seems like Ishmael will be very important. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I-Pz7YtJCco
Indeed, he is. Ishmael says: “OK Ahab, time to go” when you hear carefully. That’s one of many things of why I think Ishmael must be some kind of symbolic hallucination.
One question I have always got since I saw the demo. Why on earth doest snake and Ishmael have bandages on their heads if they where in a coma for 9 years… shouldnt they be cured of all injuries?
Dunno, man. Hallucinations, again? In that case, it would make sense for Ishmael to cover up his face and it would not need an explanation. But, Snake? The reason might be aesthetics, to hide the horn, for example. Who knows…?
By the way, I think hallucinations are the new nanomachines.
WTF? It looks horrible in 60 FPS, it has the so called SOAP OPERA-effect. It seems like its unnatural or moving to fast. I hope this won’t be like this in the PS4 Version. I hate thsi effect.

Thanks for this. Disappointing bitrate but it looks better than the youtube one at least.

I’m a slut for em’
#BitRateSlut
You should change your user name to that haha
Also not 1080p. It is far from perfect but it is awesome to have never the less.
Downloading now… Can. Not. WAIT.
GAAAHHH it’s so smooth

I watched this trailer 3 times and i cant do this anymore, its just hard to watch, ill pass this version and any others that would come in the future.
