The Metal Gear series has sold 57.1 million copies as of March 2021

The Metal Gear series has sold 57.1 million copies as of the end of March 2021. Konami provided this updated sales number on their official website. The number is up 200,000 from their previous update, 56.9 million copies as of the end of December 2020.

Konami also announced their financial results for the fiscal year today, noting strong performance for Momotaro Dentetsu: Showa Heisei Reiwa mo Teiban! on Nintendo Switch, which has shipped over 3 million copies.

The company has recently stated it won’t be at next month’s digital E3, but that ‘a number of key projects’ are in the works.
