The new MGSV trailer will show men descending into madness, could be tough to watch

The E3 of 2014 is now less than two weeks away. Kojima will show a new trailer for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain somewhere during the expo, and the final mix is now finished.

“Final MIXing for the trailer at MA Room, which we introduced in “Stefanie Infiltrates Kojima Productions”.”

According to Kojima, this new trailer could be tough to watch. Here is what he had to say about it (translated by JunkerHQ):

“Finished the mix. Like last year, this trailer contains no explosions, collapses, destruction, gunfights, car chases or people mobbed by reporters. Nor any zombies, aliens or giant spaceships. Just men descending into madness. A lot of fans said the 2013 GDC trailer was tough to watch. This one may be even tougher.”

This year’s E3 begins on June 9th. It’s still unclear on what occasion the new trailer wil debut.

    Can’t wait!!! 2 Weeks guys!!!

    • DjangoRemastered

Hopefully this trailer won’t give away the entire freaking plot like E3’13 did for Ground Zeroes….

      • PhantomShame

I think the reason that happened was because they didn’t plan to release ground zeroes as a seperate game until after the trailer was cut? Cause there are way too many spoilers in it for GZ.

      • Joseph

Well I mean Ground Zeroes had such a short plot there wasn’t much to showcase in the trailer but the main plot

  • Batzi

AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!! this IS DRIVING ME CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FUCK ME NOW! GIVE ME THAT TRAILER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • Someone else is descending into madness as well. 😛 (I don’t blame you)

      • Theo Heisenberg Constantine

this is what kojima was warning us about bum bum BUUUUUUM

      • PhantomShame

        Trailers have changed..

        • prothy

          Trailers. Trailers never change.

    • Jason Mounce

      I feel your pain.

Soon as I saw the article heading my leg was shaking violently and I begun frothing at the mouth. I pray I don’t get spoiled because I won’t be able to hold myself back from devouring the trailer 20 times.

      • Batzi

My leg, my arms, even my fingers. You feel it too, don’t you?

        • Jason Mounce

You truly won the internet with that response. It especially helps being that your avatar is of Kaz….

  • LukesAlike

One wonders how this could be harder to watch. But, Mr. Kojima isn’t one to take lightly.

  • Batzi

I think he meant the red band trailer though. GDC was awesome but it was not hard to watch.

    • Yes, probably a mistake by Kojima. I also think he meant the E3 2013 trailer.

  • Any news about MGO? :c I’ve been waiting for this for 2 years!!!!!!!

    • Last time KP mentioned it was during Kojima Station 6:

“Also addressed during this week’s episode was the absence of Metal Gear Online information. Sean Eyestone assured they are seeing the comments of the fans who want to hear more about the game, but at this point there are not ready to show anything. But in the future, they will have ‘a lot to show’.”

  • Theo Heisenberg Constantine

will the trailer be a cutscene?

…And yet some how I can only picture The Doors The End being used for The Phantom Pain more as time passes.

    • Invader_skoodge

Ooh that’s a nice pick. But TPP taking place in the 1980’s I think the potential for the soundtrack is astronomical. Remember that the 80’s ran on cocaine, ask Charlie Murphy. lol I would also expect a few songs from David Bowie since Kojima mentioned the name Diamond Dogs is partly inspired by Bowie’s album.

  • lostsnak182

Just out of curiosity what do people here think made the GDC trailer “tough to watch”? I didn’t find it tough to watch at all, yes the coma scene at the start and the ending but apart from that?

    • RoderickThe13

He must be referring to the E3 red band trailer that showed Paz’s surgery.

  • Mr. RHC

I for one am truly hyped! Let’s see if from FOX two shadows were born…

  • Janeo

Well this is getting really hard to wait for but it’s going to be great when it finally comes I hope it’s a nice lengthy 9 minute trailer I know I will watch it many many times, I can’t wait for yongs trailer analysis either. At least I will have Mario kart soon though so it shouldn’t be a really tough wait.

    • glitchbomb

Its hard because I want a lengthy trailer as well, but the longer it is the more there is a possibility of spoiling something.

      • Janeo

Good point but I think this game is big enough to do another lengthy trailer and not spoil to much plus we don’t know to much about the games story right now so I hopefully it will work out. I’m fine with finding out a few more things I want them to confirm Chico is alive he is to much of an important character to have died without us seeing plus he was right next to kaz who we know survived. I guess the things I’m worried about most is them ruining some cool character cameos I don’t wanna see if Eva will make an appearance I wanna be surprised when I come across her in the game, the cameo from sunny in rising was great but it would of been cool if a trailer didn’t already show it.

How was the last trailer tough to watch? It was tough not watching it over and over :U

    • He’s talking about how dark and graphic it was (assuming he meant the E3 Red Band trailer).

      • Datguy8923

Red Band trailer is one of my favorite trailers ever, and I don’t think it was that graphic. I mean it had nothing new in it besides child soldiers, and we all saw child soldiers in Blood Diamonds. Can’t wait to watch new trailer over and over!

        • glitchbomb

That is your peronal opinion. Your “average” person can find it a bit uncomfortable.

          • Datguy8923

Well I guess the average person needs to get on my level then. 😀

          • glitchbomb

Eh. Desensitivity to graphic scenes repeatedly is not something I would want for everyone. They are graphic for a reason. Your love of metal gear is likely the only reason you watched someone wrist deep in guts and scenes of tragedy over and over again. (even though its simulated)
Unless of course there is generally something wrong with you lol. You average person who may not be a metal gear fan could find it quite disturbing.

          • Datguy8923

I find not being a Metal Gear fan the most disturbing thing in existence. :O

  • RoderickThe13

I know I’m gonna watch the crap out of this trailer 😀

  • ObsessedGeorge

How come he’s being ironic with his own trailer? 🙂 I for one moment thought it would be a subtle trailer. Anyway, l wait for new spoilers!!!

  • Fraaancis

    In Kojima we trust.

  • XIFF-5

    Just bring it to me!

  • Fredy Carius

It will be tougher to watch cause one year later it will still not have a release date

    • Schmojima

oh man, you could be right…
but I really do hope, that we get a proper release date this time. I mean, how hard can it be? Just give us an approximate date, like Spring 2015…plz kojima, plz!

I’m not watching this trailer. I’ll read your reactions for the hype but that’s enough spoilers for me, Kojima.

  • Dingo

Agreed only there WAS no plot in ground zeroes it was basically a 2-4 hour tutorial. And I still loved it. Can’t friggin wait! #itskillinme

  • disqus_RjvXVuQrWm

    yheaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaanwa trailer, cant wait

  • PrinceHeir

This might be my last trailer before going all blackout on this media.

Just seeing 1 or 2 Ground Zeroes trailer pretty much spoiled the ending and what happens after that. I don’t want this to happen for Phantom Pain for me.
