Fortunately already have it and will play it (all cutscenes included) the day TPP comes out. That way I’ll be able to jump right in full force. Little DD is waiting.

    • Ravenous

I’m going to play Ground Zeroes before TPP too, but I’m going to start out with MGS3HD two weeks before release, move on to Peace Walker HD and then, as close to release as possible, I’ll take my sweet time with Ground Zeroes 🙂

      • Gatsu

I’m going to spend the weekend before TPP release playing GZ nonstop :D.

    • The Reaver

I’m planning to replay the whooooole series (the whole canon series, at least) between now and release.

      • Kol Leqejza

the only one who’s going to it right.

      • Maurycy Zarzycki

I don’t have access to PSes so all I did was watch LPs of the whole series (except Peace Walker which I am slowly going through).

      • TheGame1083

that’s what I have been doing for the past few weeks, I’m slowly playing Snake Eater, then Portable Ops, Peace Walker, GZ I will do on release day cause I consider GZ and TPP together are MGSV

    • Jak

All cutscenes? So you’re going to spend an hour tops playing it before you start TPP :p

Honestly, I’ll play it now and wait-helps emphasise the whole coma thing.

      • ddmaster

I understand where you’re coming from but look at it my way. By the time I get TPP it will be like I’ve at last got the whole book so I will ‘read’ the prologue and immediately be able to jump right into the rest of the ‘book’ without having to wait months. Of course it goes without saying I’m going to play GZ to death in the meantime as well as a number of the other MGS titles, I have all of them. I sure as hell am not going to hold off playing anything for the sake of an in game coma not when it’s right here saying “play me”.

  • XIFF-5

I always wanted to try the Japanese version of GZ, so I am going to download it.
Anyways for those who don’t know, If you created a Japanese PSN account, they will give you a free 14 days subscription of PS Plus! Soooo yeah…. : )))

    • WrongDirectionZ

Wow, thats good. All i need to do now is learning japanese ^^ Why must this language be so hard….. 🙁

      • Romain Robin

I speak it since i’m 12. Not that hard if you forget everything you know about language logics haha.
Easy language to begin with, Incredibly hard (impossible) to master.

        • WrongDirectionZ

I guess speaking and hearing is way easyer than writing and reading. All those…. signs. what about you? Do you write/read aswell??

          • Romain Robin

Id say reading is the easiest at first, but you need to know how to read so you need to speak. A single kanji ideograms can have multiple meanings and spelling while other words sound the same but can mean dozens of different things. Speaking and reading goes along, you can’t learn one without the other . But all the best to you MGbro if you are planning on starting this very long journey that is the Japanese learning

          • WrongDirectionZ

Thank you sir, you keept me motivated. I just love this community ^^ in that sense i leave this here…

    • 223hzy

It still works? Did you try it lately?

  • MrVux007

hmm i always wondered…if one downloads the digital version of MGSV ground zeroes…does the user still get the bonus for MGSV TPP?

    • MichaelPayneV

Pretty sure you will, as you get the bonus in TPP if you finished Ground Zeroes, i think it only matters how much you played, not payed!

      • MrVux007

already have mine at home (the physical one),played it on my friends PS4 and beaten it almost 8 months ago…still they haven’t rly clarified weather or not the digital version will get the bonus aswell…

        • MichaelPayneV

“Tell me, do you get the Content?…You will!”

    • Javier

At the moment the only way to get the bonus is with the physical edition, because it has a code to use in core.konami. The digital version should give you the bonus, but right now it’s not clear how.

    • invader_skoodge

I’ve been wondering that myself since they announced bonuses from pre-ordering the game digital. I don’t know if it means anything but when I bought GZ digital the game was added to my subscriptions, maybe that’s how they’ll unlock bonuses for TPP on PSN maybe. I’m not sure maybe reading a save file, or like the idroid app if you put in your info it’ll show you your stats. They never explained.

  • Shouldn’t be this near September? Hmm…
Can you imagine the game will be released sooner?

Ah, to dream is free… 😀

    • XIFF-5

In the Middle East, Games come earlier by few days or one week before the release date like
THE WITCHER 3 and many other games, so yeah… 😀

      • In the middle east, *Liquid Snake Voice*

        • cardboardbox engineer

we don’t hunt foxes// we hunt jackels

      • Gatsu

I’ve wondered for quite some time, that why do they release games so soon compared to other countries? It’s quite troublesome with some story related games, when there could show up spoilers days before the actual worldwide release date. I mean why can’t those certain countries do it normally, I assume people there live in the same day as I do :P.

Seeing some dude streaming Witcher 3 1-2 weeks before release date on PS Live wasn’t nice. Well it was the same with GZ too D: …

Now I sort of understand how PC gamers feel when they get to play TPP 2 weeks later. Knowing some people get to play/finish it on console many days before I do hurts :(…

        • MrVux007

honestly i haven’t felt any difference on the internet cuz of the early releases of Witcher 3…staying out of Youtube videos, and especially twitch that may contain any spoiler footage should solve the problem 🙂

          • Gatsu

Hmm yeah I guess you’re right, staying off certain websites solves the problem. But still I wonder why so early release :P. Almost with every game these days the release date gets broken, not sure was it the same with PS3 years ago.

  • Gatsu

@Nyxus there is some new comments of TPP gameplay in Kojima’s twitter. At least I think they’re new which weren’t in the previous ones, about 6 of them or more. Not sure if it’s enough to do another article of though :P, just wanted to mention it :).

That’s a nice offer for those who still haven’t played it. I remember PS4 dropping it’s price to couple € a while ago for PS Plus members, which was great too.

    • Tong Ninja

I think the reason for SSSniperwolf attending and not MG fanatics like Yong or Nyxus is to reach a wider audience. The SSSniperwolf community are mostly COD fans (I think?), hence it will generate more interest in MGSV for people who haven’t tried/heard of the game.
Since Yong and Nyxus has a large Metal Gear focussed community, we are pretty much guaranteed buying MGSV. So no need for these two to get invited. I’m sure Yong/Nyxus don’t want part of the story to be spoiled any way until they play the whole story on 1st September. 🙂

      • Gatsu

I dunno…maybe that’s the reason or maybe not. But our great leaders Big Boss (Nyx) and Kaz (Yong) deserve to be invited 😀 !

      • Not to mention SSSniperwolf has 100 times the followers on Twitter as this site does. 😛

    • Rob

I mentioned this on Twitter but, everyone who attended brought something invaluable to the event, and their expertise, in our minds, isn’t in question for sure. While we had a long invite list, it was limited by capacity, so unfortunately not everyone with a passion/interest in MGSV could be brought along.

I personally hope we can have more opportunities like this to showcase the game however, and I hope Nyx knows I think the world of their fandom and the value of this site to the community.

      • Gatsu

Oh darn I forgot we’re being watched ;D … Well it’s okey Rob, I understand there must’ve been many names on the list :). I hope my post didn’t make me sound like some douchebag lol, I guess I’m just a bit jealous that others get to play it already hehe XD …

Yeah more opportunities would be nice, but it’s understandable that there might not be much when release date is pretty close already :). Don’t worry Nyx and we all know that. I appreciate your reply ^^.

        • Mini gear

imagine all of us at mgi going to a preview for tpp… @_@ best day ever

      • invader_skoodge

@Nyxus has made this site one of the greatest MGS communities and he’s worked hard to do it. I want you to know that we here at MGI support all the hard work you guys do to make this game. Even if we don’t agree with decisions made at the Corporate level.

      • That’s quite alright, it’s completely understandable not everyone can be invited. 🙂

    • hunner

It’s because she has like a million subs on youtube. She can share her preview to a wider audience even tho she isn’t a hardcore mg fan like yong or nyx

  • cardboardbox engineer

    just gonna leave this here

    • Tong Ninja

80s style movie poster? Yes please! 😀

      • cardboardbox engineer

this is the poster that was shown in london,,,(triumph reveal)

    • GreatShadow

Seriously! I want a poster sized image of this to print it for my room

    • Joaquin Romero Victorica

Nope .Wrong art . I dont see A Hideo Kojima game

  • Boldizar

If you have Playstation Plus and download a free title or title at a Plus discount, does that mean once your subscription ends you cannot access said media?

    • Gatsu

You own the game after buying so it’s all good, can still access it imo if subscription ends.

    • invader_skoodge

If you got if from the free ps+ games, and your subscription ends you can’t access them until you renew your subscription. But if you bought something with ps+ discount it’s yours and can access it whenever you want.

      • Gatsu

Is it really so o_O? I haven’t got a clue to be honest, because haven’t tried that. Been keeping my PS+ active for a long time.

        • invader_skoodge

  • Batzi

It’s actually free for the rest of the world at least in North America:

    • Yep, Europe as well.

  • Guys, update: it’s also for the US and Europe.

  • Romain Robin

I will download it just so I can play the main mission on sept 1st, and directly load TPP’s disc afterwards without having to leave my sofa. That will make the illusion that the GZ mission is included in TPP… yes… this sounds like a masterplan hehehe.

    • invader_skoodge

Seems like that’s the way Kojima intended it to be because he always calls GZ the prologue to TPP

      • Romain Robin

I know it is TPP prologue, what I meant was that with the free PS+ Ground Zeroes, I won’t have to break my gaming experience by ejecting my GZ disc and insert the TPP one. All will go nearly without a break, which is nice and it will nearly feel like the GZ mission was included in TPP:)

    • Lenny B.

Ground Zeroes was definately intended to not be seperated but a part of MGSV Phantom Pain, just like the tanker level and virtouos mission. Only reason thats not the case this time, is Konami not being satisfied with the time & money Kojima was spending on MGSV…

  • Nanera

Does anyone know what this is?

    • RJRO

if you click the cockroach at the down left corner you start hearing morse code.

      • Nanera

I cant even see the cockroach :b Is probably some fake bullshit tho…

      • RJRO

The morse code can be translate to: ” Is there such a thing as an absolute, timeless enemy?”

  • Dr. Miles Manners

I’ve been playing this game non-stop since a week ago, rediscovering it on the PS4 after 100% my PS3 version. Boy they weren’t kidding, it’s really impresive on this console!
But still wish I could swap the L2R2 buttons actions to the L1R1 buttons

  • Javier

I already pre order the physical edition of tpp. I dont know if its going to be the regular version or the day one. I think it will be just the normal.
I have to confess, my first idea was to buy it digital to some seller to get it cheap. But now I cant because the games get blocked. The only way for me to have a console is if I sell the games after playing it. I would love to have a collection, but that wont be good for my economy. The only thing I have is the artbook of the legacy collection and digital gz.

  • Gatsu

[A fan-made picture] Liam Neeson as Big Boss.

Looks really good, but I wonder who they cast for the movie roles.

    • Mr.Pony

Since Kiefer Sutherland is voicing Big Boss why not play the part as well?

      • Gatsu

I’ve though about that too :), it’d be great.

    • WrongDirectionZ

He looks like a badass Big Boss if you ask me. Who ever made that pic: good work ^^

    • Cipher

      One of my favourite actors
He would make a great Big Boss

unfortunately the movie does not promise much

  • Gatsu

The beginning of TPP will surely be the most amazing start to a game ever ;)! I keep imagining how cool and emotional it’ll be with sounds effects, voice acting etc. I want to know so bad what’s gonna happen between GZ ending and hospital.

    96 days!…

    • invader_skoodge

I love it. I think this is what one of the people at the preview mention that David Lynch fans were going to like. I like his work very much and fun fact he directed the PS2 promo videos that made many people scared of buying the console. LOL. He is a genius.

I’m sure Kojima is a fan of Lynch and the hospital scene is the best example.

      • Cobra

I hadn’t seen this before, really cool stuff!

But yeah, he’s been a fan of Lynch for a long time (He likes Cronenberg as well, I think). When the Showtime reveal was made last year, I remember Kojima made a bunch of tweets showing off all the Twin Peaks merchandise he’d collected back in the early ’90s (TP was huge in Japan, it was one of the few countries where FWWM didn’t do awfully), plus on a KojiStation, he was wearing one of those Blue Rose shirts that came with the first run of the Japanese blu-rays.

I’d wager that his style of telling a (generally) serious story with a cast of completely bizarre, off the wall characters owes at least a little to Lynch.

  • invader_skoodge

Looks like it’s Raiden’s bath time and he doesn’t want to go in the tub. LOL

  • Golgari

Fantastic deal. But I’m sure everyone who reads Metal Gear Informer already have it. 😉

This is a good move from Konami. People should experience this fantastic short little gem. It has fantastic stealth sandboxy gameplay.

  • ObsessedGeorge

Something l wanted to ask about Classified Intel Acquisition side op.
I played it twice today and a weird thing happened. If l jump out of the truck right away and kill the two patroling soldiers and the one on the watch tower, if l look outside the base with binoculars (the road the truck came in) Miller will say on my radio “Wait, is that…?”. I try to look again and see if l could trigger the quote again but nothing. I reload the mission, kill the first 3 soldiers and this time with the watch tower on my back and the gate the truck came in on my front, the quote triggers. “Wait, is that…?”. Anyone else encountered this before? I’m on PS4 btw.

    • Javier

It could be an error. There is a mission where you can hear “a prisoner escaped”. And you can’t find him, and it’s not gz. I think it’s the mission of the tape.

  • WrongDirectionZ

So i played trough all main mgs titles (PW includet) multiple times over the years. And theres one thing i just dont get from the lore. Hope you guys can help me out ^^ everyone is saying that Ocelot is the son of The Boss and The Sorrow, but i never noticed that that was ever mentioned throughout the series. Eva even said in mgs4 GotP That John (BB) was the last son of The Boss (The scene in that church, chapter 3) and at the end of mgs 3 befor you fight The Boss it seems to me that she is implying the same (When she shows off her “snakescar”)… So what did i miss?? Or am i just interpreting this whole thing wrong… Cant help myself

    • WrongDirectionZ

      Nobody knows more…?

    • Lewis

The Boss never knew, that Ocelot was her son. He was taken away at birth. BB is her son mentaly.

      • WrongDirectionZ

But in wich game is that told?

        • There are two optional codec conversations in MGS3 that make this clear. It isn’t said explicitly but if you hear those two there is no doubt about it.

          • WrongDirectionZ

Oh realy…? Hmm. Do you maybe remember who that was? Zero or somebody else..? Thank you so far.

          • There is this CODEC conversation with EVA that pretty much confirms it:

As you know, The Boss’s child was born on the battlefield, and she was left with a snake-shaped scar.

          • WrongDirectionZ

Wow, there it is. That pretty much confirmed it as you said Nyx. Thanks for your effort ^^

  • PrinceHeir

    Good stuff!

Was about to buy a Gold Membership for one year since i haven’t been member for a few months now.

Also for those who played TW3. Anyone fought a bear bearhanded?

    Looks beary good 🙂

    • invader_skoodge

No this is a manly man. Fighting bears making log houses bare handed. My Geralt works at Abercrombie & Fitch

  • thetrooper1989

I’m not ashamed to say that i’ve put in over 40 hours for Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes. *sobbing* sometimes I close my eyes and pretend i’m playing The Phantom Pain.

  • ObsessedGeorge

How come it’s only for PS4 and not for PS3?
