      It’s clearly fake
I mean he took it literal and the plot seems so fucking empty and a rip off of time wanderers

    • Lex Radu

Looks like i’m not the only one who saw that Video and though “this looks like the work of Kojima, the way the Camera moves, and the shots are composed, that looks like Kojima”

      • I don’t know if it was you, but someone on MGI said that

        • Lex Radu

It was me! Looks like i am a star on Reddit!

    • JJBYACHFullOptions2FucKonami

      Yeah, no.

The director/art director/writer is some guy called Veselin Efremov:

      https://pbs.twimg.com/profile_images/619512146834137089/5mWJIdk4.png

In case anyone thinks he’s just another Mogren, here’s his twitter: https://twitter.com/vesseff

They also have a developer diary on the official Unity website that details the steps the devs took to make the tech demo. Here’s one of them:

      https://blogs.unity3d.com/2016/08/09/adam-assets-creation-for-the-real-time-short-film/

His also did the Unity “Blacksmith” demo:

      https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=pXWAsayTFTo

Conclusion: Completely unrelated to Kojima. The director likes films, and so does Kojima – that is the only similarity – if there even is one.

Tangent: Kojima’s earlier work was more reminiscent of David Fincher than this more traditional “shakey cam, angular, immersive” stuff – it was cool at first but I’m getting tired of its over use, I’ve seen so many recent TV shows which have an episode with a 6 minute long continuous tracking shot – it gets boring and after a while. MGS3 was extremely clean cut, very atmospheric. I personally hope he goes away from shakey cam and is inspired by his friend Nicholas Winding Refn (Drive, Only God Forgives, The Neon Demon). Nicholas gives his films a dreamlike, atmospheric and often disturbing feel by never using shakey cam and making everything clean cut. The DS teaser was shot like a Winding Refn film so I think this atmospheric dreamlike style is what he is going for. MGSV was more “documentary/immersive – you are the protagonist” style (makes sense for MGSV), I think DS will feel more “cinematic”.

Off Topic: also that redditor guy (the guy who made the “theory”) is a prick; acting like it’s other people’s problem that he’s wrong, getting mad people are disagreeing with him. Lmao.

      • LeGuy(CertifiedPIS)

        Refn is a dangerous man

          Refn is
          A necrophiliac?
          Lol.
          His movies are
          Pretty messed up. So
          Maybe.

          • LeGuy(CertifiedPIS)

Have you watched the neon demon?
            Movie is insane as fuck
No that genius isn’t a necrophilliac

          • JJBYACHFullOptions2FucKonami

I need to see that film. Love me some Refn…

      • LeGuy(CertifiedPIS)

Also that redditor guy is starman who isn’t a prick
The subreddit is full of assholes
Those fuckers didn’t even read his comments
        NBGO is worse
Beating a dead horse ? Exactly
And I can’t see how he’s contributing to that

      • Hahaha well…you see, that prick is me >_<

First off I have to say that I don't see any connection between that short movie and Kojima/DS, neither do I believe those leaks are real.

I simply wanted to throw a baseless and random thought out there, for those mad detectives who somehow manage to make out connections that make absolutely no sense. I guess that's what I wanted.

I probably should've explained that earlier.

Now I don't know what you meant by "[…] getting mad people are disagreeing with him."

I only got slightly pissed off at that first negative comment.

        • LeGuy(CertifiedPIS)

          Dude don’t take him seriously
You did your best explaining that it was a random thought and that people post worst shit on that subreddit and that NBGO piece of crap
          You did your best
          You were good
          Don’t take them seriously

          • No hard feelings here.
I just don’t like the negativity on those subs.

        • JJBYACHFullOptions2FucKonami

          *Cringes*… Lmao. Um, yeah.

If your intention was purely to allow other people to speculate then cool – My response was the assholish in that scenario, and I apologize. I interpreted it as you made up a stupid theory then when people got angry at you, you backpeddled and tried to distance yourself from the theory after the fact, saying that “I just wanted to see other people’s ideas on it, I don’t believe it myself”; based on what you’re saying this is not the case and I still do apologize.

It’s just that your post gave me PTSD from an encounter(s) with a “mad detective” on NBGO who was actually insane. Whenever I think of a mad detective I think of him/her (the guy was a transexual so I dunno how to identify him/her) and it pisses me off – the guy like an insect, whenever he got banned for making death threats and harassing people, he just kept coming back with crazy schemes to destroy the subreddit – “cutting out the cancer” as he said. Generalizing is a bad habit but this case I find particularly difficult to shake.

Regardless, I’m still not the biggest fan of the idea of inventing theories to one doesn’t fully commit to. It creates a quite convenient shield to project criticism, and gives a quite “low effort” feel to the theory – I think this where people’s (mine included) agitation stemmed from.

          • I chosw not to reply to other opinions, because I didn’t have anything to add.

And about that insane guy you’re talking about, I think I know him :b

There’s alot negativity on nbgo, but it seems like that only a certain person keeps getting banned.

Well, it shouldn’t matter too much – We’re just on the bloody Internet, fooling around :b

          • But don’t worry, I can ususally deal with any kind of criticism, backlash, hate or whatever you wanna call it.

            It’s all cool :^)

    • No Place For Hayter

While I agree, I kind of hope nobody gives Konami any money, lol.

As for me no matter how good it turns out I won’t be getting it because it has a high online focus (I don’t play online or care to) and well, I’m not giving Konami a dime, lol. But I’m still interested to see how it is and such.

      • Janeo

I really disagree with how you’re handling this and hope others aren’t the same way but it’s your choice in the end. Will you still not give a dime when a more traditional game is released? I’m not a fan of games with an online focus either but they did say you could play offline and it will be even harder so I don’t mind that, I doubt I will play online much if at all.

        • No Place For Hayter

It’s a matter of principle, the game doesn’t matter, I’m simply not supporting Konami.

The company and its practices are complete shit (Pardon my french) and I’m not going to aid that in any way. Most people don’t want to think about the company or what it does, they don’t want that to control what they buy, and while I agree if they released a good game it would suck not to buy it simply because whom is making a profit, but I’m not going to be ignorant and ignore what Konami is like just so I can play a video game. Morals, ethics, transparency, and basic respect are more important to me than a video game, hence not a dime from me.

          • BurntFM

People are told to vote with their wallets, but the moment somebody wants to do just that, they say to give it a chance and not judge it before playing it. Konami is off my radar when it comes to games. Specially since they don’t seem to give a single fuck anymore.

The Voice is different from PT, in PT that was clearly Ron Perlman, but here he sounds like Norman Reedus, with an accent, Reedus Voice Acting the hell out of it.

I think these are 2 different persons reading the same lines, in the same way, so perhaps it’s just like Big Boss and Venom!

    • Lex Radu

That being said, why would Hideo have Norman Reedus, Re-Record the lines , that we’re clearly not said by him in P.T. for a Canceled Game, just for TPP?
Hideo could have used the original audio from PT, but he didn’t why? PT-DS!

Also, when he created PT, he said that he wanted people to thin k it’s an Indie Game, made by an Indie Developer…now now say that DS it’s an Indie Game, made by an Indie Developer

    • No Place For Hayter

Still waiting for some actual extended gameplay, everything so far looks really scripted and or a cutscene designed to look cool in VR. They even jumped to the FPS horror idea for some sort of “Immersion” but you know what easily destroys that? Over scripted gameplay, and long cutscenes, nothing it more annoying than losing control in a FPS cutscene in which you are still looking through your characters eyes (And then literally getting stabbed in the face and force fed because it looks cool in VR). Also I think they are underestimating the importance of the weapons, so far we have seen only one use of a gun, and well put bluntly it makes the guns looks useless as fuck. The only thing that can separate this game from the other indie FPS jumpscare run and hide shit games is the fact that it could be none linear and that it actually has weapons to fight back. Capcom REALLY needs to highlight and explore these points because as of right now they are only making the game look like so same shit every other FPS jumpscare shit game is, which is possible but if it is different they should really show and tell.

Though I don’t buy games day 1 anymore, any game I could want or do want has tons of DLC, so I simply wait a year for some sort of GOTY of complete edition of the game so I can actual have the whole game on disc. So Capcoms crap marketing doesn’t effect me at all, but for those whom are buying it day 1, they should know hat kind of game they are buying. I mean if you are going to change the way the whole franchise is you need ot be open about it, being shifty as fuck and stupidly mysterious about your game only works if your game already has established ideas and gameplay from previous games of the series, but if you change all that people won’t know what to expect.

I also personally hate this sort of mysterious piece meal marketing RE7 is doing, They should have asked Kojima how to do mysterious marketing while still being good and detailed marketing, lol.

      • Eugene Voldo

I don’t think that Capcom are trying to be mysterious. They are pretty upfront about gameplay and the atmosphere of B-grade horror movie. Actually, with this scene “OH SHIT OH SHIT HE IS NOT EATING” they hit a home run. It’s amazingly scary and funny at the same time. Like a good B-movie. To tell you the truth I’m really impressed and can’t wait to see more.

        • No Place For Hayter

It could be they are not being mysterious, but ask ourselves what d owe know? We don’t know much about the family or what it is, we don’t know anything about any virus or parasites. We don’t know what the environment is all going to be like aside from a few vague statements. We don’t know how linear the game will be, we don’t know how much combat they will be, we don’t know if fighting back matters, we don’t know if it is “I did enough damage this guy will leave me along for a bit” or “I KILLED it”. While it is possible they aren’t trying to be mysterious they are in fact being very unspecific and vague as hell, we honestly don’t know a whole lot.

And as far as the NOT EATING scene goes, for me gameplay matters, for me personally a cutscene can never hit a home run, only gameplay can, not to mention its a pretty in your face VR un-interactive SCARED YET!? moment (No I’m not scared yet, for me to be scared there has to be something to lose or something unexpected or great atmosphere and disturbing stuff, a cutscene is scripted to only go one way thus not scary to me, also the B-movieness of it ruins any potential for it to be scary despite being scripted) which I’m not a fan of. I personally want to see more gameplay and less cutscenes.

Agreed on the B-movie, just needs a little more cheese 🙂 I mean there’s plenty of hope for RE7 but honestly Capcom has yet to really show or explain the game enough for me to say whether I care or not.

        • JJBYACHFullOptions2FucKonami

For me B horror movies are a hit or miss, some are hilarious and entertaining, some (well, actually just one in particular) give me PTSD due to how shit they were and nearly put me off the whole genre. With that being said RE7 looks great.

      • JJBYACHFullOptions2FucKonami

Hmm. To be honest I think that you’re just not a fan of the type of game RE7 is, which is perfectly fine – I really don’t like strategy games, not that I think that all games in the genre are terrible, they just aren’t for me.

You’d probably enjoy something like the upcoming Get Even – it has a very FEAR 1/Stalker feel as it seems to rely on as much gunplay as it does horror:

        https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=5wsUdI27uTg

        • No Place For Hayter

Yeah that’s about right, but we are unsure about what kind of game RE7 is going to be, if it is actually SURVIVIAL horror and not RUN AND HIDE horror, I would love it, lol.

      • Janeo

People have been complaining for years about resident evil, they always wanted it to go back to this kind of thing and now it looks like capcom are trying that, I only saw this trailer so not sure if there has been more about the game but it looks like you play a normal guy when you usually play a soldier. I think they have listened to fans and I think it’s going to turn out like all the other horror games because of it, that’s the issue with listening to fans too much.

        • No Place For Hayter

Agreed that listening to fans for everything is a terrible idea, but what Capcom is doing here is misunderstanding the fans.

What Fans said they wanted “A return to the Survival Horror that the first bunch of RE were like, less action more tense survival, puzzles, item management, and no extreme mutation BS, true survival horror”

What Capcom seems to have given with RE7 “Jumpscare FPS horror, aka the popular trend of horror that isn’t. Puzzles yes, but don’t know the extent, guns yes but don’t know the extent or use. Item management? no idea.”

What people wanted is what the original bunch of RE games were like. None of them were run and hide jumpscare, and none of them were first person. Don’t get me wrong something new for the series is a great idea as opposed to doing the same old, but the bad thing is while it is new for the series it is currently the same thing the WHOLE horror industry is currently doing and thus doesn’t make itself special or stand out. Which is why Capcom needs to highlight and explore what makes RE7 different from every other indie FPS jumpscare game.

          • Janeo

Guess we need to see more of the game before deciding on this though, this could possibly be the very start of the game and later on will get into the more traditional stuff but I do agree they need to make this different than other horror games. I only played 4 and 5 and I really enjoyed those games but it will be interesting to see what they will have with this first person thing.

What’s “bémol” (caveat) is that actual PS CPU never was as close to PC as any others before. I am a PS lover, but it is crucial for Boss is keen to target every single plat so would be sad if he had to lay too low for now on this concern.

I mean those reniffleur de chaussettes at Sony are apparently planning to release a ps5 in 2018 according to a rumor
        Thank god for PlayStation Now

“ps5 in 2018” Regarding how actual tech evolves, could happen but never did so far. We were all anticipating PS2, 3, 4 sooner but the 7-8 yrs rule was always respected. There is some suspense.. PS5 in 2018 would be not impossible but a bit too exotic to me. A bit more than Kojima’s title in late 2018 but all is possible. Both manufacturers and devs are under increasing pressure nowadays.
