New Kojima Productions merchandise revealed
From September 17, two stores in Tokyo will be selling exclusive Kojima Productions merchandise. These goodies will only be available at FamilyMart Shinagawa Season Terrace and at Akihabara UDX.
In addition, GILD Design is working together with Kojima Productions to produce a series of iPhone bumpers. A limited quantity will be sold during TGS on September 17th, and they will also be for sale at a later date, in October.

That second thing sounds too ridiculous to be true. From Sony’s own PS4 Pro FAQ:
“Q: Will all PS4 games be compatible with PS4 Pro?
Yes, all existing PS4 games are fully compatible with PS4 Pro. Developers are able to add PS4 Pro enhancements to previously released PS4 games via a free downloadable update if they choose to.”
They specifically say ‘free downloadable update’.

The advantage is that you still have a specific set of hardware components that you can optimize for (when the Pro launches, two sets).
A console is basically a specialized gaming pc

The advantage of a console is that you know everyone uses the same hardware, so you can optimize your game for that. The PS4 Pro already kind of goes against that, but at least you know it’s limited to 2 base units. If you let people customize their own console you can never account for all the different hardware combinations, same as is the case with PC now.

But imo, variety should be used more
